I been meaning to post this for a while now.

I go to bed every night, ipad in hand, reading this forum.

For a long time i though i was not normal:
going to the garage to look at my boat,
Figuring out "fuel etiquet"
Whiping the boat after a simple use in fresh water.
Washing it full scale after going out to the ocean on saturday, knowing that i,m going to the ocean on sunday also,
No shoes rule, no gold fish rule, no chocolate rule, no no no no mo rules,

And many many many more that my wife and friends don,t get.

Thank you to all of you.

I too am glad I have found a place where I fit in :) haha and my friends and wife also will never understand my rules and methods with my boat. That part though, does not matter to me.

Sometimes in the winter I go out to the garage and sit in the boat and listen to some tunes. I even like the way it smells...you're normal, or we're all abnormal together. Either way works for me.

My family and friends think I'm crazy too, I enjoy the boat and enjoy taking care of it, and enjoy to read about what others do to their MC.
What's the issue!!

I think Harold used to do that too. He had the ONLY boat that smelled like cigarettes!:firejump::firejump::firejump::eek3:

I think you are all crazy and I'm going to buy a bayliner

maybe they have a good forum for you  8p

but now that it's been mentioned ... when I fire up my computer at work, the first thing I go check for is new posts here on TT ... then throughout the day when I have a few minutes ... then last thing before shutting it down. Most evenings & weekends I also check at least once a day from my blackberry or when stuck in meetings at work. My wife thinks I'm nuts in this regard but she is one of the biggest reasons we have a boat as she loves the water and has the utmost regards for babying the MC ... "normal" is a relative term, but I understand the "normal" of being a MC owner is a higher level of attention to detail than most others.

From what I see on the water we really arent normal, at least I'm not...i get " Doug... drop the microfiber!!!!" alot. I was caught at Norris a few weeks ago wiping the boat down at 7am by a guy a few slips down...he said..."hey your boat looks great..." I said..." thanks but this isn't mine...you shoud see mine!!! This is my brother in laws!!!"

While this OCDization may be normal for MC owners...isn't nowhere near normal!!! But welcome to the club!!!!

We trailer our boat 90 miles round trip 1-2 times per week to get to our favorite lake. I could get a storage unit out by the water so I wouldn't have to tow it so much but there's just something about walking out in my garage at any time and being able to see/touch/smell my boat. It's worth the extra towing hassle.

Hi, My name is Mike. and Im addicted to my Mastercraft.
Its old ( 1999 ) and has a lot of hours on it.But looks new. and I have the rules too. No cheetos. No shoes. and yes I have been caught sitting in my boat in the winter, and summer nights disturbing the peace with the wet sounds sitting in my carport watching wakeboard videos on the dvd player under the judges seat. so judge me if you want to. but its what I live, and work for. My only hobby and I love it. whether its wakeboarding, or just drifting on the river. or sitting in my boat at the house. Yes I'm addicted. do I need theropy?

The word is "beauty." Fat fingers and poor den lighting make for bad spelling.

And the smell of freshly conditioned vinyl. Did anyone mention that? Oh, yeah. Someone did. Count me in the MCOCD club.

My wife and I have owned MC boats for over 30 years, and whether this is a good thing or not I don't know, but she is worse than I am about these boats. Her car, she could care less about. I have to remind her to have it serviced, wash it now and again, check tires, etc. But the boat...you want her on your bad side, get in it with shoes on, open a bag of chips, spill something.

I have to read this entire thread and chuckle. I have only owned my X-15 for a year and I find myself doing the same things as the rest of you. My wife thinks I am crazy. Beverages in the boat in the heated shop while we wait for next summer is pretty regular. Of course she tried to join in with the red wine, but that's not allowed - might stain something. She has relented to coolers and all is well! As for TT, last thing before bed every night no matter where in the world I may be. Cheers boys! There is nothing wrong with us, we just have a little more passion about our boats than most others.
