View Full Version : Advice on adjusting the rudder

I have an '03 197 with the adjustable rudder. However, if I move the adjustable piece, as soon as I tighten the hex nuts on the rudder, it goes right back where it originally was. My dealer was not able to help. Can anyone advise me?

I've been told a little silicone sealant on threads helps to keep the screws from backing out skis on their own. I'm not familiar with the design of the newer adjustable rudders, but it sounds as if that's what's happening. Things were easier when you just took a belt sander to the rudder to get the pull.
Oh, and welcome to the board.

I did try that, but no luck.
My pictures are too large to upload. The site won't allow it.
