I guess it's not too bad here. Hate to see the fires get that big. Almost lost a house to one about 10 years ago. Fire fighters were battling in the back yard.......and won.

I have a friend that lives out there since she left for a job out of college. I still need to come out there and visit her before she moves back to the states.

To be completely honest, I'll take 100* days any day of the week over the temperatures in the teens during the winter. At least you can still be on a lake when it's 100* out!

If only you knew how lucky you are. Here in UK, for the time of year, we are having low temperatures and highest rainfall since records began in the 1800s.

Fingers crossed for the Olympics or Swimming might be the dominant event

I saw an update on his situation on another website we both use. He has pack up the important stuff and he and his family evacuated to a house they have in Idaho. I don't know if his house is still up or not. They did have some car troubles on their way to Idaho but it sounds like they got them fixed up and back on t he road.

It's a rough road the haul.

Thank you Tim for updating folks here. Yes, we left Colorado with a completely stuffed suburban with the boat and my "newly" 16 year old driving the 89' Blazer with 300k+ miles on it. As we were pulling into Cheyenne, the blazer was blowing fluid on the ground. After $2200.....all is good (sort of). We pushed through the last two days and just arrived safely here in Idaho.

Thank you all for your prayers.....we really do believe that has helped! Our area is still evacuated but it looks like they are holding the line very well. Our area, I believe, has not lost any homes but the adjacent neighborhood, Mountain Shadows, obviously got hit very hard. We just need to wait and see. Again thank you all and I know God has his reasons why this happened to this community.

Jeff

On the up side, this is what I'm looking at this morning! Tried launching the boat last night and found out they are redoing the whole ramp so it was closed! I'm heading over this morning to get it in the water....just a shame to look at it and not cut it up!!
