jonnyski2

They must have been really drunk . Although they sobbered up enough to get to the boat ramp all the way on the other side of the lake, get the boat out and get away ! They later turned themselves in .

The boat is totaled . They were through the side and on top of my boat. It took alot of throttle to get there boat free . The DNR showed me a picture of the idiots boat , it looked like the only damage was the trim hanging off in the front.

If you know who did it and called the police, pressing charges will get them a hefty fine and possibly a felony charge. It might also get you a return engagement with them really messing up your life or worse, your family. As long as you know who did it, your insurance company will pay you, but will try to get reimbursed by the morons who wrecked it.

So don't press charges because you are afraid of a return visit? That's laughable. I'd openly welcome the chance to use lead dispensing devices on people trying to harm my family. I'm rather good at it. ;)

jonnyski2
06-22-2012, 08:55 PM
The DNR has the case because its a state owned lake. They claim its going to be hard to make the felony charge stick . They have already told me the charge has already been reduced to a misdimeanor. I think its BS . First off they should have gone to jail and did'nt .The only thing the DNR did do right was confiscate their piece of **** boat worth only about $2,500.

jonny, sorry to hear that. question, do you have insurance for the boat itself and not liability only. if so then your insurance company can pay you less deductible and then subrogate the a@$%hole who didn't have insurance and get your deductible and their money back.

if you have any questions re: this matter just let me know. i have been in insurance for the past 18 years.

it does blow my mind that some states, including oklahoma, do not require liability insurance for any boat that operates on public water.

Sorry to see this, thank God your family was not out boating at the time and something like this happened. The boat can be replaced...

It's situations like these when the sh!tty justice system of this country does absolutely nothing. This is why people take matters into their own hands and settle the score on their own. LOVE IT!

This pos does not deserve to be out of jail. He should be behind bars and charged for what he did, driving drunk, destruction of private property, trespassing, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.

Johnny, hope this scumbag gets what he deserves, in more ways than one.

Makes me think about putting some kind of camera down by my boat....lots of transient idiots out on the typical weekend.

Now I know I will get HUGE slack for this

BUT SERIOUSLY

it's a boat

no one was hurt

insurance will pay for it (provided he was smart enough to insure it)

I have never understood how people become so emotional over an inanimate object whether it be a boat, a car, or whatever the case may be

I sure as hell didn't puke when I watched the video

I thought damn that sucks, good thing the kids weren't sitting in it making motorboat noises waiting for Dad to take them for a ski

Bad news there. Would a felony stick if these guys were drunk and T-Boned a car on a street?
Seems the courts are only too happy to reduce charges and let everyone off with a slap on the wrist.
