I just recently bought 76 mastercraft w/ a 351, 18.5' long. The only problem is I cannot identify what model it is since the title does not specify. It has an orange band with black mastercraft lettering / no S & S.

wasn't that a Mastercraft Skier?

I thought the 190 didn't come out until the 80's?

where is that link

Welcome to Team Talk and congrats on purchasing a classic boat. Would love to see some pics. Where in the Midwest are you?

It was referred to as a MasterCraft Skier...It potentially had stars and stripes as 1976 was the
200th Anniversary of USA...May have originally been red white and blue

Many Stars & Stripes boats, including my '77 when I bought it, had their stars removed and newer MC logos added to update their appearance. Should you choose to replace the stars, or the entire logo, Jim at BAWS is the guy to talk to.

Clean looking boat. I see the windshield has been replaced. Custom colors were always an option. I wonder if that was originally orange?

You will have to be extremely lucky to find an original windshield for your boat. Production numbers for a '76 have to be less than my '77 which was estimated at 350-500 boats. Keep shopping for as close a match as you can come up with. They were manufactured by Taylor.

And yes, that is a Mastercraft Skier.

The back seat is a nice option. Any interior pics? Is your 351 an Escort conversion? It will say on the valve covers.

Color scheme is original (or the intent of those colors if that is not the original finish). I have seen several of these boats over the years, in particular in the late 70s and early 80s. It was designated as the Skier model, a generation prior to the 19 Skier. I think it had the 302 c.i. engine.

302 was the base engine even up to the mid-80's. Upgrade to the 351 was only $200 if memory serves me.

In response to gid - what do you think it is worth? 1100 hours runs great!

I'd say 4-5k.

Man, that is a hard one to get (feel like I'm on The Price is Right) $4350. I could see it between 2500 and 5500.

That is a clean good looking set up - even the trailer looks decent - and the baby moons.

Should be able to see serial number embedded in upper right corner on the transom.

It sure looks like the orange is an original color considering even the seats have orange piping.

Seriously cool boat at a fair price. Might never see another orange '76.

Saw the same color combination for sale near Jackson, MI a few years back. Would've been all over it if the glass around the rudder wasn't so busted up. Love the boat. Jim can get you set up with the new decals. Laser level is with its weight in gold for the stars.

Did it once without the laser level. Never again.

Love that textured motor box...pretty cool. I love the kink in the front of the hull with the 76 model boats. Looks so odd but cool the way the stripes run into it. The windshield will be a true needle in a haystack. Wetsand...Polish....Restripe and Ski....Fun project.
