X45 2006 new to me this year. Want to do a ballast upgrade so looked at the piggyback rear ballast upgrade system from wakemakers. Any comments on this system? What size of bags should I go with? Is it as easy to install as they say?? 20mins?? Do they fit in the lockers good? Any comments or advice would be appreciated? Thumbs up or down?

Thanks.

If you remove the panel on the back of the locker the FH 1100 will fit. And it will fill to about 800-900. The D.I.Y. may be a little tricky because you will have to change the timers on the ballast puppies. You will also want to purchase a couple more 400's and a tsunami pump because you will need to add more wt under the sides and towards the front. IMHO. Wakemakers is a good company and should be able to give you some good advice for how to set up your boat. They have helped me tremendously and I am sure they have helped many others.

Do I for sure have timers on my pumps? Even if I do can't I just flip the switch off and flip it back on to fill more? May be a stupid question? Thanks vman

goebelt. You will know if your pumps are protected with timers if they automatically shut down after several minutes. The light in the switch will blink when the pump turns off. Yes you can reset the timers, but, I believe you have to actually reverse the pump momentarily (ie, switch to empty then back to fill). You can also cycle the battery switch to reset the timers. But this could become a hassle for you, especially if you are filling and emptying multiple sacs.

If your timer module is the same as mine you do have options. The timers have 2 settings...I think they are 7 mins and 12 mins (don't quote me on the times...others may chime in and give the specifics on this). In any event, chose the higher setting and that should give you enough time to fill/empty the piggy backed sac.

The other option is to remove the timers all together. I have a large sac under the seats that has a dedicated pump which I added after market. I do not have a timer protecting this pump and I have to make sure to switch it off when the sac is empty. Hope that helps. Wakemakers will have more specifics for you on the timers. The install is def worth the time and effort.

Hey VMan. I have 750' s installed in rear and the wake is sick. I now have 2 400's to place wherever I want as I have an extra pump. Thanks 4 the advice. I will post photos!

Try a 400 under cooler seat and one in the board locker. Speed at 11.5, trim full up. I think you will like it. Looking forward to pics.

Goe- I do a 900 in the rear port, a 750 in the cooler and sometimes a 450 on the seat if its just me and a buddy. All from wakemakers. Plumbed the port locker off of the starboard pump with a directional valve. Love it! 08 X-45
