Is there a difference the 6.0L Ilmor and the LY6 VRS? Looking at 2 boats - 2010 X35 and 2011 X35. 2010 has the LY6 VRS and 2011 the Ilmor.

Does anyone know what is standard on the 2010? Dealer told me it had pro pkg, amp, sub, etc but spec sheet does not show it as option. Was it a standard item in 2010? Just trying to compare apples to apples. Thanks!

in 2010, indmar and illmor were both options. 2011, strickly illmor. I had a lq9, which was similar to the ly6. I now have the 6.2 illmor. Nothing wrong with either. illmor is the future.

Given the choice I would support the decision of the engine that the manufacturer has the business with. If you run into a borderline warranty issue, Illmor has more to lose in keeping Mastercraft customers happy. Indmar wont lose any business if they dont honor your claim. In other words you should have more leverage with Illmor.

Good point, however you would hope Indmar would still want to keep customers happy even though they aren't with MC anymore.

was actually 2010=Indmar, 2011= Indmar and optional Ilmor, 2012=Ilmor only.

Indmar reps have made statements here on the forum that they will continue to offer as much support as possible to mc customers. I wouldn't let fear of them not offering good warranty support be a factor in my decision.
