The shower hot water is hooked into the block on the starboard side. The problem is it often gets clogged up with rust and we lose the shower. Would it be a ok thing to do if i were to hook it into the water in hose fot my cabin heater?

What boat and engine do you have? You could consider installing a strainer in the line with a removable and cleanable filter.

I've installed a strainer on the hot side of the shower that has fixed the problem. However the strainer housing is not rated for water over 125f. If you find one that is rated for hot water let me know! I know mine will eventually crack.

the thing is it is clogging where the elbow attaches to the motor like the hole on the threaded side of the elbow is where its clogging. I just thought that maybe you could just put a plug in that hole and run the line to the hot side of my heater. Ya it would take some water flow from my heater while someone used the shower but figured that would be a small price to pay.

I would check the strainer where it attaches to the controller. It might be all clogged starting there and working its way back?
