That's a great price as long as there are no hidden problems, which there almost always are

If it's in great shape that is a very good price. However, I disagree that his boat is the nicest 87 you'll see. Come see mine!! :purplaugh

He says "no wood in the Boat" he must forget that the transome has wood in it... or maybe he means he took his 2x4's out before selling it.

You sure about that? I know the interior has wood pieces in it, seat bases, panel over the gas tank, etc. But I don't think any MC hull had wood in it after like 1983.

alecams, can you be more specific about the wood in the transom. I was pretty sure the back of the combing pads had some and perhaps the observer seat base, but hadn't heard about anything structurally in the transom before.

He is working on wife issues too. He is our new next door neighbor. Looks like it has only taken me 6/8 weeks to corrupt him.. He wants a ski boat BAD.

Thats a good price for that boat if it runs as good as it looks. I'd offer $6750 and see what happens.

I have mine apart now getting a glass guy to repair it. He works at Malibu putting their glass in for their boats. There is indeed wood in the 85 model that I have. The transome is glassed over wood too. My platform came loose and it's not a pretty picture under the flooring. I'll have pics along the way as the guy works on it. He KNOWS I have to have it done before the Lake Cumberland boon-doggle...

The mid-1983 "no wood" refers to the stringers. As for the rest of the boat, I dunno.

plywood in the transome so the swim deck can be bolted on and probably add some strenght too. Its all glassed in.

Huh, didn't know that. Do you know when they stopped doing that?
