I have a 2004 X-9 that vibrates when pulling someone out of the water but the vibration goes away once the boat gets on plane. The vibration isn't terrible, but it is noticable. We hit a stump at the end of last year that bent the prop but there didn't seem to be any other damage. The prop was fixed by a very reputable prop repair shop. Could this be that the prop wasn't properly fixed? Does it make sense that the vibration would go away once the engine wasn't under "load"?

no. could hitting a stump that caused minor prop damage be enough to throw the engine alignment off?

Always possible on any strike or strut bent....

no. could hitting a stump that caused minor prop damage be enough to throw the engine alignment off?I would get the prop reworked and balanced properly. That should take care of the vibration.
