View Full Version : Prop Shaft Question

I have a question to the experts. So when I look at my prop, just forward of the Mastercraft support tube (forget the technical name). I see a 1/4 to 1/2" of a hard white gasket type material sticking out, almost looks like it could be ceramic. Is this a normal thing or something that needs to be addressed?

The cutlas bearing I think is what it is called. Maybe it is coming out. Shouldn't be sticking out a half inch.

Just measured and it is sticking out towards the prop exactly 1/4"

Just looked at my X45 and mine are flush. Hit them back in with a hammer but I would take propshaft out and inspect if they are good just press back in with a threaded rod, 2 washers and 2 nuts. Also check if there is any play with the propshaft within the strut

To do that do I take the whole shaft out cause there really isn't a clear way to bang it back in with the prop and shaft in place.
