It's a very nice addition to the boat. Thank you Kathy at Watersports Central for the blazing deal!

I'd be interested in one of those. I didn't love the extreme mirror on a previous boat so I went with the standard tower mirror on the current boat. This one looks great.

Who has the best price on these? The cheapest I can find them is 10% off retail.

Supposedly the $40 cipa extreme mount will work instead of the $90 ptmedge one.

Nice, but quite pricey IMO. One would NEED, as oppose to want, a new mirror to justify the prices. Could be pricing themselves out of a lot of potential sales.

Loving my $200 one too. I didn't have to buy a bracket. Mine was plug and play. Bracket spendy IIRC.

I too had sticker shock before I saw it and used it. I quickly justified the price tag and bought it while in the mind fog of "must have it".

I bought the plastic back on price alone and needed the bracket. I shopped around but got the best price from my local dealer. Out of respect for the dealer I'd rather not give the dollars and cents but they made me a deal I didnt walk way from.

Big Up's to PTM for making something else I didnt need and bought in spite of!

My advice is to call Watersports Central in GA and ask them to price you one and have it drop shipped to your location.

I agree with everyone in this thread, best money I spent this year. Pricey, yes, but last year my wife constantly complained that she couldn't see me with our other mirror. No problems now. I actually just picked up a new rubber pad kit since my X-30 has a thicker windshield bezel than my old boat. I didn't want glue residue on the new windshield so the new pads are going in tonight.

I have the 3 piece mirror now. How much better is the PTM for skiing the course?
I see the skier for a blink of the eye in the smaller side mirrors.
Anyone know of any dealers that are offering a discount? Anyone regret switching?
Anyone have a used 1 for sell?

I have a used 3 part CIPA Extreme mirror that I would love to sell, but after upgrading to the PTM I will never go back to any other mirror. It is awesome to have the skier in view at all times.

I've heard the same complaint from the wife, and on many occasions we will pull multiple skiers at once. I've only heard good things about this mirror so my wife said "Just get one!" I will get one on order.

For the price difference, I'd recommend the CIPA Vision 180. I compared the Vision 180 on my boat to a PTM in the showroom on a Ski Nautique. Not able to do both on the water.

My wife really likes the Vision 180 over the older CiPA Extreme with 3 mirrors. It has a huge vision area. I could see my wife playing on the course with no problems. It is a little taller in the middle area than the PTM. Same quality mirror/glass as the original mirror or Extreme. The image is slightly out of proportion due to the large convex. It has a large plastic case, but was very light weight. As previously stated the Vision 180 does fit the original "cup" mount on the extreme. Which I have 4 extra ones if anyone needs one.

Just got a PTM Edge for my birthday, so I now have an extreme and a CIPA Vision 180 for sale.

I just bought that same mirror. What is different about the cup mount. I bought a mount with mine but it's going to need to be shimmed with a piece of rubber or something.

It's my understanding the cup mount is the round part at the end of the arm, looks like a spoon, that the mirror hooks on to. The windshield mounts are the old style with flat sizes.
CIPA also has an update deluxe cup mount, http://www.walmart.com/ip/CIPA-Deluxe-Cup-Mount-Windshield-Mirror-Bracket-Black/35994892?action=product_interest&action_type=title&item_id=35994892&placement_id=irs-106-t1&strategy=SMT&visitor_id&category=&client_guid=d092d6f1-0b8d-4915-82e2-a2db44f00baa&customer_id_enc&config_id=2&parent_item_id=35994891&parent_anchor_item_id=35994891&guid=00e752f3-ab07-40d4-b616-505299d88485&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n

that can now swivel down for storage. The old style will NOT swivel and has to be removed for storage.

Anyone else with experience with this? Can you really see the skier out to 35 off with the 100? I know I wouldn't regret the 140 but I think I found a deal on the 100. Assembling a Christmas wishlist while the boat sits idle in the garage this winter. Oddly enough we were at the family cabin last weekend in WI and the ice had completely melted off the lake....

Having just received mine this mine this morning, I have no actual experience but from messing around with it it seems pretty study. The weak part of my cipa for "flopping down" was the connection at the windshield, and with the ptm the arm pushes down and locks into the windshield part of it which seems like a good design.

I just got one too. For $50 I couldn't resist, even though it's the 100 and not the 140. I added it to my cart, then looked at the item again and price was up to $55. But amazon.com let me check out at the $50 that it was when I added it to cart so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I also had the CIPA 01600 180 degree mirror on my wishlist. I'm afraid my wife may have ordered that for me for Christmas. If she did I'll send it back for a refund and tell her the PTM Edge is what she got me. She'll never know the difference! Just noticed the CIPA 01600 is $28 right now, but that doesn't include a bracket.

dvsone79

I thought the PTM Edge 100 would be a superior product to the CIPA 01600. Boy, was I wrong. I got the CIPA for Christmas and it looks incredible. I've driven several boats with the PTM 140 and it's hard to tell when it isn't on the boat but the CIPA appears to be every bit as good in terms of field of vision and clarity. I even dropped it while I was taking pictures of it while the boys were playing with their Christmas presents and it didn't break.

I would send the PTM back to Amazon, but the CIPA didn't come with a mountand those appear to run almost as much as the mirror itself. Both mirrors work with the same mount so I'm keeping the mount that came with the PTM. Anyone want the PTM 100 without the mount? It's still a good mirror. Make me an offer.
