Local MC dealer has an 2012 X25 sporting the new ZFT5P Tower corner braces and hydraulics. Looks like they have started shipping the new boats with them. I would expect it should be soon before they start retrofitting existing towers :) BTW in person they look sweet :D

Never mind I thought the black moto cross shock tube covers were gone, but they're just compressed in these pics.

Looks like it still has a boot but the ram is in the down position to me. Would love to see what it looks like when it's up. It definitely looks more substantial than the first gen actuators.

Thank you for the pics! Great information. So, they will be retrofitting all power towers? Just '12?

The shock cover boots are a lot shorter than the current - at least 1/2 as long. If you look at the 2012 X-Star unvailing, it has the new hydraulic shocks, take a look at the boot length.

I was told that at some point, the dealers will start receiveing all the parts. At that point they will be retrofitting boats with the ZFT5P towers as a recall.

Really! There going to convert ALL ZFT5P's to hydronic as a recall? That would relieve a few of my worries operating with the electric actuators.....I think that would be SWEET!

Can someone confirm that the 2012 towers will be retrofitted by the dealer?

The supports are good because It think there is to much movement in the tower on rough water

One of my actuators failed this weekend on the way home from the lake. My dealer is installing the new hydraulic actuators and supports right now. Should be done tomorrow.

is there supposed to be a brace to steady the tower when towing in the down position? Mine has a lot of bounce in it when towing, and I wonder if this is what damaged the actuator

This recall is only for 12 power towers right?
