Hi guys, I just got a 2003 x2. I'm having issues with it. I live in the Kansas City, Overland Park area and was wondering where local KC folks take their MC's to get checked out around here? Seems like the closest dealer ship is all the way in Wichita.

If it's engine/drivetrain related, find any dealer that carries Indmar powered boats. Malibu and Supra come to mind.
Or post up the problem here. Lots of helpful folks, probably walk you through the fix.

I've done all my own work so far on my older S&S, so I'm not sure of other Indmar/PCM/Ilmore dealers in the area.

What work are you needing done? Also, what lake do you usually go to?

I don't have a usual lake just yet. I hit up Longview for the memorial day weekend just to stay close to home. But I've been to Hillsdale and Miola too. I'm looking forward to trying out Blue Springs and Jacomo soon.

As for whats wrong. I have 2 issues.

1) My fuel gauge sits on E. I've only taken the boat out 3 times and on the 2nd trip my fuel gauge goes out. I have a feeling its my sending unit. Only problem is, even though there are a lot of posts on here about sending units there doesn't seem to be pictures of where the sending units are located. I'm new to this whole boat thing and just wanna make sure that the part I'm looking at is in fact my sending unit. It seems to be located on top of my gas tank to the left and has 3 wires coming out of it. I've unplugged it and used a multimeter to validate that there is about 10.5 volts getting sent to it. But I'm not sure how to test if the unit is actually sending a signal.

2) On the last run of my memorial day weekend, in the middle of pulling someone, an alarm went off. I just kept buzzing and killed the radio. I stopped the boat, turned it off, and turned it back on. The alarm didn't sound anymore, but the boat wouldn't start, it was like the battery was drained. After giving it about 10mins to sit there with everything off, before I called the rangers, I tried to turn it on one more time. So I did and it worked. I think it might be my battery, so i'm having it tested right now. If the battery turns out to be ok, then I'm at a lose as to what could have caused the alarm to go off.

Any help is appreciated.

How is longview on weekends? I normally go to Smithville, and if it's windy at all, good luck finding decent water. Smithville is where most of the people I know boat, however... so in the afternoon it's nice to tie up with those guys and have a couple adult bev's. I hear blue springs lake is really small, but haven't heard much about Longview (except that dead bodies pop up from time to time there) ;)

Longview will be crowd on week ends.---I have only been on the lake once.. Several yrs ago.
