So I removed the rudder assembly in my boat a couple days ago. There was a good bit of rust on different components of the boat. The grease fitting for the rudder is one of those items that is now gone.

It there a specific type of fitting that needs to be used? Is this something that can be drilled out, tapped, and a new fitting installed?

Thanks for your help.

You should be able to to use and easy out to remove the stub. I just put a new grease fitting on mine. I put a 45 degree angled one on and it is now much easier to get the grease gun on it. Got it at an auto parts store.
