Hi all

I need to equip my boat. Mastercraft by Design looks like some very nice stuff. I'm sure priced at a premium but in comparison with the price of the boat perhaps it's not crazy to pay for their stuff so the overall look is nice.

Anyone have their stuff? Or recommend another brand with nice colors and details? Web sites where I can buy at < full retail prices?

What's the best hook-up for fenders, thin cord adequate? Pre-made lengths or just make to size once I'm on my permanent dock?

Finally, any other cool gadgets I should be ordering.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I just like the fact that you callled them "fenders" and not "bumpers"......:D

Fenders hang on the boat. Bumpers are mounted on the dock.

go with top knot for the dock lines. best bang for the buck.

For $100 bucks each they had better be. ;)

Simsy, here's a related thread on fenders: http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=45397&highlight=fenders

I'm going to the hippity-hops for <$10 this year.

Good luck!

I have switched to these this year. No problems so far, cheap, and they store alil bit easier than the barrels

Rusty they are dockmate hinged finders, overtons is where i got mine i have also seen them at basspro shops. They are easy to get on and off and i like how they come all the way up on the top part of the boat gunwales. It really works good if you tie up to other boats to keep them from scratching.

exactly what ryfly said. I got mine from overtons. Think they were like 14 bucks a pop. Love that they cover everything and its easier to stack a few of these in the rear hatch than 3 monsters.

Does it really matter? Fenders/bumpers/hippityhops/whatever.

I have the same ones. I got mine on amazon (I have prime, so free shipping). Definitely work well.

I bought the fender ties and dock line on the Matercraft Design website. I got red ones to match the boat, then took them to the local Soap and Suds(laundromat with a bar!) so the red dye could rinse out rather than in my washer or on my boat's interior. You have to tie a solid knot because the rope is kind of slick. If I had a re-ride, I'd look for something that was a little more coarse to hold simple knots better. Just my 2 cents....:twocents:

I ordered some new dock lines from these guys today...picking up on Thursday, so if anyone cares for a review, I'll post an update this weekend. Seemed like a pretty good bang for the buck...
