Thinking about installing lighting under the swim deck... and perhaps a few LEDs around the speakers... anyone have lighting suggestions?

Hey Cmike. You bought that in Portland didn't you? I bought my 2011 X2 from Portland Boat Center too, just a couple of months ago. In fact they still have it. Regarding LED lights I'm looking into also. What color are you thinking? I'm thinking red since the gauges and some under recess lighting is also red. Here're a few links:

Also some discussion on what one handy fella did:

Please let me know what you sort out as I really want to do this too (wife a bit less enthusiastic :( )

Congrats, you've got yourself a nice boat there.

There are plenty of speaker LED rings threads on here. Just do a search, and I'm sure you'll find what you need.

that powder coated tower is dirty looking. did you have that done?

whats the process for the board racks, seeing as they have inserts?

That is one nice X2... I really like how the rear portion of the tower is powder coated. Very nice :)

Willyt: yeah, had the tower legs powder coated.. much easier to do than the main tower bar. They had to pull the inserts out of the board racks then re-install. Toying with the idea of doing the main tower bar as well... someday

I like how the black portion of the tower goes nicely with the black rear of the boat.... Dejavu... For some reason I am having a flash back to an old post about the same boat... maybe its just late and Im tired...

I'm thinking the empire LED rings around all the JL speakers maybe in blue.. only because I think all red might be a bit too much. I'm just wondering about installation .. I think they're relatively simple.. but just wondering how to run power to them. The lights under the swim deck seem like a great idea for the 2-3 times I'd actually use them... but for $700.. seems a little steep. Let me know if you hear anything about the install around the speakers

if you don't count the underwaters I have on mine and the cost of the speaker grills and the innemerable trips to lowe's b/c everytime i do anything i have to go 100 times... probably less than $150 bucks in my LED project... more time with wire strippers in one hand and a beer in the other than anything
