Quick question...

Is there supposed to be a cover over the battery in a prostar 205? Seems kind of silly to have the open battery just under the seat. Mine has nothing.

If there was a factory cover, any idea where I can get a replacement? If not, I am thinking about making one.

Mine just has one of those cheap black plastic covers that is held on with nylon webbing. I think it is part of the box that the battery sits in.

Ok. Thanks. New boat and during cleaning I just found a cheap plastic atwood cover. It does not look like it will fit, but I will try and see if it fits under the strap. Thanks!

Mine is a cheep plastic cover, i think atwood sounds right. It just fits over the top and seals against the carpet. ('97 PS 205)

Long time ago I had a battery explode in and old I/O, glad it was in an enclosed box.

My 94 PS205 is just sitting in its hole in the back by the tank...... Its secured with a bracket that would not allow a box around it.....

Dual batteries under observer seat, both in cheap plastic boxes with cover. Came that way from PO

Yep that's where my 94s battery is I wonder if that's ever caused a fire?

On the 96+ it is right under the observers seat so if there is no cover, it is asking for trouble. Hey... drop a wet towel on me and see what happens!
