Just purchased a 91 tristar and was curious which depth finder i should get a thru haul or transom mounted one. If i get a thru haul one where should i put it and has any one got any advice before i do so? Thanks

For clarification, do you mean thru-hull or in hull. Thru-hull requires a hole. In hull, is epoxied in the bilge.

On my tristar I used a livorsi depth sounder in hull and epoxied it next to the pylon on the bilge floor.

If you don't already have a hole in your hull you're looking to replace, I'd suggest the in hull model. I have faria and it works well.

X2 on the Faria "In Hull". I finally added one this spring and couldn't be happier. Plus, it matches the rest of my guages.
