Hello,

I played with the torn apart transmission I got with my project boat to figure out if I have everything. I think I do have almost everything to put it back together. I have a question though, the pinion cage assembly has 6 gears. 3 pairs of 2 gears. In each of those pairs one of the gears has slits in the teeth of the gear, is that supposed to be there? They look pretty uniform so i assume so.

Here's a pic of what Im talking about.

If they are supposed to be there, what do they do?

Thanks for the help!

They are supposed to be there. I do believe that every other gear has the notched gear.

I am no engineer and have no idea what they are for. Mine had them too.

Good deal, they looked that way, but I just wanted to double check, I couldnt find another photo online.
