79 ss. i let the old one slip into the tank. could i run into problems if i just left it or should i keep trying to to fish it out? i had planned on taking old one to parts house for replacement. if it does not need to come out does anyone know how hard it is to find right replacement at napa or another auto store? i have a magnet and a crows foot but havent had much luck so far as its probably at the opposite end of the tank from fill hole. does it float???

I just pulled my tank (PS 205 '97) and the fuel sender is in a small compartment that unbolts from the tank. I was suprised to find a tank inside a tank. It was very easy to clean and reassemble.

Have you pulled the tank out yet? Aluminum or plastic tank? I would think with it out and drained you would be able to get the crow's foot on it. I know it would drive me nuts with it rattling around inside.

SKIDIM for the sender. Time and patience for removing the captive unit.
