Looking to sell our 04 SANTE 210 and get back into a DD with a tower . . . . my wife thinks I am nuts. I have bad knees and don't wakeboard, so the SANTE is not really needed . . . my daughter is 5 and we are looking to get her up on skis this year. We jumped into the V-Drive from a closed bow comp boat, so the added space was great - but I am willing to deal with the DD layout again in an open bow. I guess we are looking for a good family boat that can do pretty much everything, we do nothing exceptionally well though.

I would love to find an 209 just for the added room, but seem to come up with a number of 197's - is it worth passing on all the 197's to find a 209?

Local option that we might go look at, asking $33k - fair price?

Sorry for all the rookie questions!

Seems like a fair price on 05TT. Maybe a little high. Mostly depends on condition. But the 197 is very tight. After one season I switched to the 214. 209 isn't a great slalom wake. Good luck with the search.

Prostar 214 my brother ... or X14 ...... you won't be sorry .... I love the 197 but when you start having little ones and they have friends .... you start to give up space quickly.

The 209 is a great boat that is why many of them don't show up on the used boats sites ... owners like to stick with them ... hopefully you will have an MC by august ... so you can attend the MC Bash here in Columbus .... you can check out 2 different 214's down here.

If you want to see a 214 in person, PM me ....

Well I will have to do a 214 search, but I'm sure it is not in the budget of $35K

I'd go for either the 209 or 214 as well. I've sat in the 197 and I can't imagine taking a lot of people and the front area is smaller than the 209 or 214.

Both the 209 and 214 are harder to find so you will need to be patient. Personally, I'd go for the 214/x14 because I prefer the best ski wake. The 214 is considered to have a better ski wake than the 209.....

In any case, I would opt for the MCX engine vs. the 310 hp one.

Good to see another NE Ohio TT member. Any particular lake you go to on a regular basis??

Here is a beautiful DD that would fit perfect in O-H-I-O! Wrong manufacturer for this thread and way on the left coast.... But....

Saw that one on PN, would give some consideration to a 216 . . . .

I would think the 216 and the 209 are more comparable to one another as far as being "all around type boats". The 214 is a great ski wake.

The 209 was not produced in large numbers is why you dont see many of them, they were not that great of a boat. The slalom wake was not as good as the older 205's and if it have the hooked hull would porpoise. The 197 is a great boat, and just like any other DD as long as it is driven properly you wont have any issue with water over the bow. We regularly have 8 adults in my buddies '05 TT on holiday weekends running around the lake.

Well after owning a Supra Comp for a number of years, taking a few over the bow is nothing I am worried about. As far as wakes go for skiing, I am just a recreational skier - not good by any means!

I love my 197TT, but as my brothers have kids and the boat starts to fill up I am leaning towards a 214 as well...

I have an '05 197TT with ~290 hrs, same equipment plus board racks and tower mirror w/ teak platform and minus the ballast that I would be willing to sell under his price: mastercrafttx@gmail.com. I'm in Texas.
