Hey guys, my dad and I just got done de-winterizing the boat and got her ready for the summer. I thought I would post some sounds of the engine running. The engine is a 351 windsor but has some mods done. Edelbrock roller cam and lifters, aluminum heads, intake, rebuilt holley marine 600 carb, harland sharp roller rockers, TFS pushrods, pertronix distributer, msd coil and wires, ported exhaust manifold and a straight exhaust. All of this means about 400 horse with a 1.5:1 velvet drive tranny which denotes to a quick hole shot and get up. This thing goes 0-36 in no time flat. It actually not even that loud when in the water. I hope my videos go through.

Awesome. It sounds like a beast from the back and a sewing machine up front. What more could you ask for?

Sounds great! I'm jealous of your Mastercraft hoses to the exhaust manifolds, where did you get those?

The heads are Edelbrock Performer RPM, the intake is Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap and the cam is an Edelbrock hydraulic flat tappet with 224 intake/234 exhaust duration with a .496 intake/.520 exhaust lift. Also, the Mastercraft hoses came that way from the factory.

I don't know of many things that sound better than a nice v8 idling with straight pipes. I think I need to make that my ring tone...

can you post a pic of the straight exhaust?
how'd you get around the Silent Master Muffler?

Sure Ill get ya a pic Saturday. Im actually not home right at this moment. But I actually cut the silent muffler out, went to napa and got 2 pieces of 3 inch diameter rubber tubing. Then I clamped the tubing on the riser and down below out the back. I also used a bit of silicon around the tubing to be sure it did not leak. It has worked now for about 4 years with not problems. It is nice to have easier access to the tranny, and we also shed some more weight.

How did you fit the air gap intake under the motor box??? I cannot believe it fit! you shed a lot of weight from the aluminum heads and intake. I also took out my crap silent master muffler and replaced it with tow race style bullet mufflers.

I would actually like to put some mufflers on there, because right now it is just straight piped. The top of the air cleaner bolt just barely touches the bonnet. We got a slightly smaller stud and it just barely makes it. And yes we probably shed 100 lbs from the aluminum intake and heads. The wake was great before and now it is even better. I am actually working with a guy to see if he can make me some aluminum exhaust manifolds and risers. He says they make it for 350's and he has the mold for the 351's, he just hasn't decided the make them yet.

400HP nice....on a 190... saying "hit it" on a deep water start could make things interesting....:D
