View Full Version : 2010 MC Trailer Reliance Oil Hubs

Anyone know how difficult it is to deal with the bearings on the reliance oil bath hubs on my 2010 MC trailer? I have the tandem never use the trailer except once or twice a year. Less than 100 total miles on it and pulled my boat home form the lake today and all of the oil in each rear hub (it is a tandem) puddled under the rear wheels implying an issue with my seals, races, bearings etc.

I need to determine if I need to just pull off and inspect or take to dealer to deal with. No experience with this hub and wondering if these are any good. Looks like they may have moved to the Vault hub for 2011.

Any insight would be welcome. Thanks.

e34 M5, eh? Nice choice - looked for an e34 forever but ended up with an e39 M5 and it's the most fun vehicle I've ever owned.

last year one of my hubs started to leak pretty good. It had nothing to do with the plastic cap or oring. My leak was coming from the other side of the hub(on the inside). It turned out to be a bearing seal cap that seals up the oil bath sys on the spindle. You can see cracks in the seal, they just get old. I ended up doing all four and the rubber was cracking on them all. The bearing seals were cheap, and they are also a standard size I found at an RV place. Pretty easy job to do but time consuming.
