I have an empty '97 ps205 trailer. Factory Mastercraft trailer

Can I weld it to 2 square tubing pieces to make a cradle for a "01 ps209 and make it a boat lift.

I want to cut off the winch and boat buddy section and the fender mounts with a plazma cutter and strip the trailer of all paint and weld up the cross beams for the lift cables to attach.

Basically use the frame only to support the 209 on a lift.

I have seen someone use railroad tracks and a trailer to pull the boat out of the water

Maybe sell the trailer and buy a used lift. Save yourself some work.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

The trailer tongue is jacked up on the trailer and it can not be towed right now. It is way easier to plazma cut the tongue off and weld in square tubing. The trailer cost next to nothing.

The cradle part of the equation is cheap... the lift is the expensive part. Trailer, cradle or bunks you still need the lift

???A cable lift can be had for a few hundred bucks.

Guys the dock and lift are built. The lift is a strap style or lets say sling lift with cables already attached.

The trailer can be had for less than $500 probably more likely in the $200 range so cheap cheap cheap.

I am guessing total out of pocket expense would be $500 ish to convert a sling to a cradle lift.

I am inquiring for a friend wanting to build a cradle lift and trying to sell the trailer from another friend. I am stuck in the middle and no one knows if the trailer will fit under the 209 safely.

makes sense now. I would bet the trailer would fit great.

Too bad foam mockup blocks are not handy to test fit all points.

As for the cable lift, are cantilever beams typical to lifts going to be made/welded to trailer?

I'd want remote control regardless.
Stab anderson connector from boat into lift for power.
Make trailer lights LED for easy night nav on to it. Probably best, not get me started.
