I am reluctanly placing my BF200 on the market.
She is a great boat and in excellent condition. With new power (2008) Yamaha 225F, less than 60hrs, new hydraulic steering, new alum. trailer and dual switched batteries. Orig upholstery + carpet + gel coat, with new engine gauges + controls. Fresh water only. Located in Houston.
As you can see from the hrs she does not spend enough time in the water. Boat is also listed on BoatTrader.com $27,795.00

Nice boat! Talk about a boat that holds it's value, I'd say any clean MC barefoot 200 or Powerstar 200 are the best models for resale value.

Anyone know what the boat/motor sold for new in '93?

It should have been a Yamaha ProV 200 IIRC

Some of the Barefoot 200 were rigged from the factory with Merc 200hp.......most common was the Yamaha ProV 200hp.

The boat is rated for 225hp.

Wasnt it the mid 90's BF200 the ones that came with the Merc 200. the early 90's had the Yamaha?

No not really. Our '95 has a ProV 200 Yamaha.

It was really based on who the delaer was at the time that ordered / received the boat. The boats were not rigged with motors from the factory.

Most BF 200s you see have Yamahas on the back.

Did Mike Seipel have a hand in developing the BF200?

I seem to remember--or maybe want to remember--that he was sponsored by both MC and Yamaha. That's why you see most rigged with Yamaha's.

My mind could be way off though...

Other than the transom, is the hull of the BF200 different than a Prostar?

Yes, you are correct. He started with Ski Centurion which was powered by Yamahas on the Barefoot Warrior and then he teamed up with MC to re-design the Powerstar 200 into the Barefoot 200.

Basically the shape of the boat is different...BF200 is wider and maybe even a bit shorter. Interior design is totally different between models...

There is a thread on here that discusses the differences between the Prostar200 vs. Barefoot 200 vs. Powerstar 200...someone may be able to add the link.

When did he start with Centurion?

He was sponsored by Correct Craft in '84.

He may have had a few years with Correct Craft but when he went to Ski Centurion shortly after, that's when BFI took off and he stood on his own with own company. At that time is when you started seeing his wetsuits, drysuits, equipment, etc. more than when he was with CC.

Good catch!

Seriously doubt that you still have it, VERY NICE boat!
It's a shame you have to let it go, however it will make the next barefooter a very proud owner ...

Original interior is in excellent condition and vinyl is still supple with only slight trim sun fade around edges. Hull hrs are very low as evidenced by the condition of the boat.

The BF200 probably holds up much better with time than an inboard boat because there is not 1500 lbs of engine stressing the hull with each wave and holeshot. The 225 Yamaha only weighs 550lbs.
Its apples to oranges comparing the cost of a complete high-tech outboard engine to a 5.7L longblock, since transmissions, v-drives, shafts, struts etc are Not Free.

The 4-stroke Yamahas are used commerically and its routine for them to run for 10,000 hrs before overhaul. How many ski-boat 5.7L V8's can do that ? So a 60 hr outboard is like new.

The boat is an exceptional value for someone with knowledge of the BF200 + Yamaha 4-stroke power.
Reasonable offers will be considered by PM.
