I wish I still had the ability to run -38 but I think those days are gone :(

I want to see -38 on a wakeboard. It's the Internet, someone can do it.

That's awesome! Gave me a good laugh. It's good to know I'm able to run 38 off once I drop a ski to go slalom.

Ok, I ski... Sometimes. Mainly we wakeboard and barefoot. If we have enough energy after all that we will ski, but nothing on a course. Remember, I am a 45 year old, out of shape, guy who loves the water. The boat has more than I need but I would NEVER buy an I/O or OB, and I don't prefer V-Drives either.... There ya go...

When skiing in a course, you start out full tow line length (75 feet) at 28 mph (or used to be?) and then you progress up in speed in 2 mph increments up to 36 mph. Once you get to 36 mph, you start dropping off lengths of rope by various increments (15 feet off, 22, 28, 32, 35, 38, 39.5, 41) as you ski thru the course (entry gate, 6 buoys, exit gate).

Most higher level amateur guys will start at 36 mph at 15 feet off or shorter depending on their abilities.

So directly answering your question, 38 feet off the full tow line length at 36 mph ... which equates to not very many people can actually do this!!!

Thanks. One day I will have to try out the ski I got with the boat. I might just get into it a little more. :D

Dude I thought you were being sarcastic but typically it would be a given you were running 36 if you were already at 38 off.

You would more likely say I run 3 at 38 off, which is 3 buoys.

No problem it's just hard to gauge tone from written words

It would be great to find a course not to far from my home base... I'll have to give it a try one day...the only barrier to do it is distance... Think it would be a blast those....

That IS a pretty big deal, for the bulk of us anyway;) On the amateur level ,really good skiers run 35 consistantly, great skiers run 38, that's why skiers like myself NEED the internet!
