View Full Version : How would these decals look on my boat

I've been planning on eventually getting these black on chrome decals for my boat:

Here's my boat:

I like the debadged look but I've got some slight difference in color where the MariStar decals used to be. I've wet sanded and compounded 90% of it away but I think that it's as good as it's going to get until I get some sun damage on the former shadow. So, I'd like to cover that up with something.

Meanwhile I ran across the white on black/chrome equivalent for $90/pair on eBay. That's 1/2 the price of the black on chrome ones above:

I'm thinking it may be a cool look. Like the inverse of the above "black on black". Here's my best attempt at throwing the decal on my boat. I did it with Paint.net so my options were limited. My gel and the decals are both what MasterCraft refers to as "Ivory" so I there wouldn't be the color difference like there is in my crappy photo editing.

Any thoughts on this?

Didn't do this in the mock up but I would be removing the small tan Mastercraft EFI decals at the rear since they'd be redundant. That part is covered by the cover so I'd expect minimal fading there.

I think it would look ok.

I think they would look good

I really like the look of the first boat. My X30 is the exact same color combo and I am close to pulling the decals and going with the same look.

I am also going to go with registration numbers similar to these to complete the look.

The black appears to be the same decals I put on my boat last night. I removed the large X30 logo 2 years ago. This is a Crappy camera phone picture from last night. I will try to get some better ones today.

After looking at my boat some more today I think I may need to go for the black ones. I think going for the more subtle ivory on ivory look would look great but may leave the uncovered portions of the MariStar shadow looking too apparent. If I go for the black ones I'm thinking the contrast would make the slight difference in gel color less apparent.

Looks great! Can you post part numbers and where you bought them?

I went with a yellow set on my boat... ordered from MidWest MasterCraft... here is a link... pretty fairly priced as well. Totally helped the look of my boat.

For our area Aqua Sport is a great dealer and has terrific service! Nice boat hcoog17! Where do you put in at around here?

Link for anyone looking to order these decals... they have many color choices. Contact Corey if you need any help matching up the color... he helped me match my color exactly.
