Trying to figure out the correct tire size for 1996 205 sitting on a MC single axle trailer. It currently sits on 215/75R14. It seems that many on here are running 205/75R14? I am wondering what is stock. It seems that some may have moved to the 205/75R14 to have more tire options, such as Kuhmos?

I thought single axles were 15" rims. My 96 tandem trailer ran 205s and 215s. Just slightly larger diameter and width. Either should be fine.

From what I remember, most 215 tires vs. 205 have slightly higher load rating (not by alot) but that may help sway you on a single axle trailer since the loading on each tire is pretty high for our ski boats .... just my $0.02.

My 89' trailer has mismatched 205's that I'll be replacing soon. I plan to find out from the manufacturer(of the tire) what size they recommend depending on load.

The concern with 215s is that you are almost forced to either run goodyear marathon or an off brand.

I'd roll on the rims before I'd run a Goodyear marathon!! There are plenty of other good tires to use in the 215.... Call up Peter aka Thatsmrmastercraft he will hook you up on rubber.
