Does anyone have any pictures or videos of the X1 slalom ski wake? How does it vary at 28, 30, 32 mph?
We have an 89 Ski nautique, we want an all round boat. The nautique wake is quite a pronounced hard bump at 28-30mph. Will an X1 be a softer bump that is easier to ski do you think?
The Sport Nautique 200 looks like our ideal boat but being only really available new possibly more than we can spend, is a slightly older X1 going to be too wakeboard orientated do you think?
Thanks

Someone claimed that the 95 PS 205 hull is the same as the X1 hull. EastTX can you confirm or someone else? My '95 has a great wake for slalom at 26 - 36.... The only issue I see in the X1 is the v-drive system... more weight in back bigger wake. If you want a butter wake....you'll want something else....

What year X1 are you looking at?

96+ 205 is the same hull as the x1 iirc

If that is correct then...the wake does have fair bump in it. Friend has a 97 205...which I ski behind. Adding engine wake to the back would give it more bump...I believe.

Consider an x-9 in my opinion - direct drive and comes with tower...

Most likely early X1. Have seen an 07. I guess what I'm most interested in is if the wake would be easier to ski than what we currently have. I know the board wake stands up but if the ski wake is the same or worse than what we've got I'm not interested. I guess the best thing is to test it, but first step is always asking opinions.

As said above the 96+ 205 is same hull as X1 although X1 is V vs Direct drive. Never skied an X1 but the 205 skis really nice. Much, MUch, MUCh, MUCH better than that 89 Nautique. I've skied plent of that generation Nautique and that 2001 hull is brutal to ski behind.

Actually the X-9 and the X-1 have very comparable slalom wakes. The 209/X-9 was not one of MC's better DD slalom boat designs. If the budget allows it a 214/214V would be excellent boats to look at as well.

Why not? It won't run? ;)

I have a 2007 X-1 and I have skied behind it once and will never ski behind it again. It makes a terrible wake for skiing. I have some friends with nautiques and the sport 200 is very similar to the ski 200.. If I was buying a crossover boat I would definatley buy a sport 200, it has a amazing ski wake, wakeboarding wake is ok, and surf wake is close to the X-1.
If you want a good wakeboarding boat then the X-1 has a amazing wake.
