View Full Version : Other people suck!

So I went to the lake yesterday. I didn't have anyone to pull me, but I figured we could float around a bit while the kids finished their homework in the boat, and then they could ski/tube. One of my 7yo twins attempted his first deep water start. I couldn't have been prouder.:)

Anyway back to why people suck. We got on the water around 5pm. There were a few fishermen, and a couple of toons beached in one of the coves. So I went to the other side of the lake and anchored in the middle of a very small 2-3 boat cove that was empty. It wasn't 10min later that one of the toons pulled up right next to us. I could have spit in his boat he was so close. I know the following experience is what some on here are looking for when they hit the water, but not my. They then started to blast their trashy music dance on the stripper pole, and were taking body shots of the mostly naked chicks. We were choking on their smoke and could smell their drinks.

Now don't get me wrong, this is America, and it is their right. My beef is that they had the whole lake, and they left the spot I avoided, to come right over ontop of us and "act a fool" in front of my kids 10, 7, and 2yrs old.

So we pulled anchor and drove to yet another spot, and had a great day despite stupid people.

I understand with having kids, but i think you missed out on a great opportunity to contribute to the swimsuit thread here!

Someone say naked chicks? I'd have tied up with them!

Seriously though, sorry they intruded on your spot. Some people just aren't thoughtful of others.

Ya, that sucks. We go out of our way to not intrude on others anchored or beached when we are looking for a spot to hang out in.........

Have to get it done someplace, and where better that at a strip club, I mean out enjoying the nice weather. I didn't want to wait to go till after they were done because it would have been getting kind of late for that small of kids.

Having the kids there would have pissed me off as well. Now, if it were just me and the guys I would have creeped out a little then left when the moment was right. Anyone that stupid to just pull up next to another boat, get naked, dance, drink, smoke on a Tuesday is either Porn Stars, drug addicts, or very insane people. Only a matter of time before they started jumping on your boat, waving boobs in your face, next thing you know you are on Facebook trying to explain to your oldest daughter and wife what happenned while high fiving your oldest son behind your back. I am one to never say Whoa in a horse race, but this seems like the time.

.....dance on the stripper pole, and were taking body shots of the mostly naked chicks......

I find it rather amusing that you could have said you were running the course when a bunch of tubers or jet skis of fishermen showed up and destroyed your glass. If you would have said that, everyone on the board would be outraged but when you mention "pole dancing" and "mostly naked chicks", no one supports you.

Go figure....:D

That type of stupidity happens too frequently IMO. I make a habit of telling them where to go, much to the dismay of my wife. :o

I base my view of other people as the average person is a complete idiot. That said, half the people are below average, and you encountered some. You did the right thing, as telling them what you thought of them would have had no impact on them.

Surprisingly, it sometimes does. Approach it softly, and you will often get the results you are looking for. Chances are you will stop them from doing it again if you explain it to them.

The problem here is your 10 yo needs to learn to drive your boat. That way you can hop on the toon and enjoy yourself and send the kids to the other side of the lake to come back for you later. :D:D

On a serious note, it does seem rude and totally out of line to take over your spot like they did and I would have moved as well. Of course, my wife would have been in the boat too and I would have no choice....

Oh I can just imagine...

Son: "dad why are you taking pictures of those people"

Later that night: Son to his mother "ya, and dad even was taking pictures of them"

Even later that night: me "man this coach sure isn't as soft as it used to be"

The best thing about all this was listening to my 10yr old complain about them after we moved. I asked him what bothered him so much about the experience. #1 "they were so stupid" and #2 "they had a stupid boat". I guess that I've done my job as a dad and DD owner when one of the biggest complaints is that it wasn't another ski boat.

just be sure to have the boat ID number in the pictures ... then you can state I took pictures in case the drunkards might have chased us or fell in the water & drown to show the police

seriously, there are just way too many stupid people that have no clue they are infringing on others. One reason we find something else to do on holidays other than go to the lake.

So, I ran into my "friend" again last night all most literally. As we were about to leave the wakeless area, this same moron in the pontoon boat comes flying in (way above wakeless) and almost hits us. Ok, he didn't almost hit us, but I could have touched his boat from mine. This time I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and said something to the effect of "you're coming in pretty fast, how about leaving us a little more room" his response was "hu?" followed by "It's dinner time."

What an idiot! I really need to get the number to the fish cops so I can make formal complaints.

Same day different idiot: Our marina has a bunch of floating boat houses lining the edges, with the waterway wide enough you could get about 3-4 boats abreast side to side. Well there were a couple of kids about 30yrds from the ramp wakeboarding behind a wave runner, and using a paddle boat as a ramp. Ya, it was kind of neat, but they were throwing huge rollers all through the marina, not to mention the safety concern the tight quarters presented. Sure I may be an old fuddy-duddy at 37yrs old going on 73, but it just bugs me when people do things that effect other people. Go kill/hurt/wreck your own stuff far away from the rest of us if you want to, but don't put me/mine/others in danger when you do it.

Like TEX said above ski or tube them out of there next time.

Or

What I would do......... Put on the Dora or Square Pants (what ever those kids cartoons are called) sound sound track and blast kids music over their music.

I mean just imagine having a good time on your toon and bringing in some half naked chicks into a cove and ready to get some party on and all of the sudden your Chitty Toon stereo system is drowned out by the BARNEY "I love you, you love me" annoying as Chit song.

They will leave for sure. Keep in mind Only do this if your stereo can 100% blast them out. I have never bassed the kids music but I know 100% that no one around me can hear their own stereo.

I have been linked up and lets say some lake trash big ole girls (the kind that put the refrigerator full of food not beer in the living room) swam for 20 minutes to come over and tell me what songs they wanted to hear and how my music sucked. My volume was set at 15. They pissed me off because it really was not up loud and our small croud was enjoying a sunny day. So I turned on the Phil Collins satalite radio station and cranked it up to 30 and left it there of an hour or so.......They left too

Exactly. And report it to the Sherriff or whatever organization is responsible for patrolling your lake, even if you don't get the numbers. Report it each and every time it occurs. Call back to see what action is being taken. Be understanding that they can only do something if they observe it but still at least make sure they somehow following up and are on the lookout. If you have the cellular reception on the lake then take your cellphone and the number of who to call - report it immediately if at all possible.

Just my two cents.

If you put 2k pounds of weight in the back of a prostar and go 9 mph I am sure that you can make it misreable for them.

Saw this last night. He had about 1,000 lbs in a sac on one side of his 93' 205. Looked decent to me but I've never surfed before.
