this is my second Mastercraft-a 2007 X Star with a full wrap. It hasn't been to the lake yet, next weekend will be the first trip. Before I went I thought I'd take Some time and wax the boat but was looking for advice on which wax to use? Just a Meguiars Carnuba from Wal Mart or??

I read a few posts about polishing the tower and it seems that due to the anodized finish products like Mother's aren't necessarily the best bet. Can anyone confirm if the Flitz product which is supposedly SA.fe for anodized actually is in their experience?

also the boat looks to be half a quart low on oil and I have no idea what the previous owner was using--any suggestions? I am in Kansas and typically temps run 80s to 100+ in the summer.

pardon my ignorance guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the boat wrap laminated with? Most wrap is vinyl and also laminated with a substrate before cut and applied.

If you can't find out I would only use the mildest wax without any cleaners in it.

I use Shell Rotella T6 or Shell Rotella Triple Protection...What oil does your engine manual call for?

If you just got it I'd recommend an oil change rather than just topping it off. Better safe than sorry.

I don't have much help to offer, but curious where you're at in Kansas? I'm in the KC area.

Thanks for the responses guys...I am located in Southeast Kansas. The wrap I believe is a factory MC wrap. As for the oil, unfortunately I don't have the owners manual for the engine. I think I will attempt to download one tonight.

I think most engines in '07 use the recommended 15W40 Pennzoil Marine oil.
Rotella 15W40 will also do the trick. As stated above, since the boat is new to you I would do an oil change, maybe even change the trans fluid also (use 15W40 motor oil for trans too).
NAPA 1069 oil filter for the engine.

I wouldnt be too concerned with waxing over the wrap, a babes boat product or similar will clean water marks and provide sufficient protectant over the wrap laminate.

NAPA 1069 oil filter for the engine. That's the best advice ever.
Anytime I get a new toy, all fluids get hot flushed out.
Now I know where the wear factor stops.
