View Full Version : Alpine MC20 Remote location
Has anyone installed one of these remotes in a 92-95 Prostar 205?
I can't decide on where to cut the hole and mount mine
I am thinking either between the two vents at the back or on the left handside of the transom
Anyone at all installed a transom remote on a Prostar 91-95?

It's all visual.
If the rear end of your boat looks like my 190's transom, I'd go dead center above the grab rail.

You'd have to yank it no matter where you put it on the transom, right?
No, if I put it on the lhs I just have to move the battery
If I put it between the vents I don't have to take anything out

Hmmmm.....
I'd probably got left side then. If you put it up between the vents, I'd worry about it constantly getting bumped when people are sitting back there.

i would put it on the left side, in the location where the gas cap is on the right side... would look uinform ;)
that was one of my concerns as well, I was thinking of where the yellow decal is
it is a slope
down below would be a pain unless you are in the water was another thought that I had

How about this area, in between the vent and the outside edge.
I don't think there is enough space there but I will look tonight when I get home as that is a good spot also

yes in the area where it is in the pic. i am not positive what the back of the boat is like there?? see my post about the mc20 remote i put in my xstar, i made an aluminum spacer to make it work perfectly! maybe that is an answer for you?
I have still been to scared to cut into the boat to install this remote (I know I know scardycat right)
I have decided though that I am going to put it on the transom on the lhs

thanks for the offer, I would like to live more south for sure, can't see it happening though, so I will stay in the warm part here
Well I finally stoned up and installed
I kept the plug just incase
