anyone here have any experience with this boat on the course. i read on here that this boat does not have the greatest slalom wakes, but i wanted to hear from some owners who know the real deal. the reason i ask is that when i do decide to buy a new boat i would like something with more room since i have started using my boat on open water lately. however i do use it on a private lake course skiing about 3-4 times a week as well. ideally i would have two boats.

I love mine! Never had it run a course though. The wake is a bit on the large size, but managable with short line lengths. I did recently get a pull from a '89 190 Prostar...............talk about NoWake!

Anyone have odds he'll have 3 boats before long? ;)

I'm not a course skiier, but I've found that there is a bump at 15' off and better at 22' (where I ski at) and better the closer you get until the 41' off range, then you get side spray from the boat. Pictures often don't do justice, as you know you often have to stand there in the wake and look down to see where it's best. Hope this helps...

PS, Yep he'll have more than 2 :)

Can't remember if it was Jim@BAWS or who, but the 209 is based on a maristar hull design. Beautiful boats for sure, but apparently not the slalom wake your 197 has. Have a test drive and decide for yourself.

Keep the stars and stripes and get a 230 or X30. Use the 190 in the course and take the big dog to the river. I have a 209 and love it. It does okay in the course, but will have a bigger wake than your 197 or 190. If I could, I would keep a 190 for the course and have a V drive for boarding and boozing. My 2 c's

Rod-

How is your '93 with regards to spray. I have a '93 205 and have run 28 off @ 36mph, but the spray is becoming an issue at 28 off and shorter. Just wondering if the 190 hull was the same or better.

Thanks

i wish i could tell you , but i am at 22off and only attempting 28 . i've heard though that 35 and beyond is an issue.

Rod, Gotta go with you on the bimini. Great looking boat and I love the color, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and poney up a few more $$$ for the new bimini with the tower. I wonder if the center point of the tower tow point is an issue.

yep I assume they saved a few $ getting that tower and bimini but they did load it up with chickies!
