Do you keep them in the racks with your clamps/bungees or do you keep them in the boat to avoid the chance of damaging them in the racks?

When I finally get us one I'm Gunna keep it in the cabin. Been thinking about making me some sort of hanging system on the ceiling.

Under the observers seat.

cool. guess those nice racks will go unused unless i decide to get back into wakeboarding. i could see those things damaging a nice epoxy finish on a $600 board. that would not be cool.

I'll put them in my racks if we have more than one and everybody is surfing. But I don't trust them up there at skiing speeds so that's why the go under the seat.
FWIW, I find they fit better in my slalom rack than in the wakeboard rack.

In the racks unless I have too many wakeboards on board - surfboards fit better under the seat than wakeboards do. We have been doing it for years and have seen no damage on any of the surfboards.

I usually keep mine in the racks. I've recently heard of people getting surf pockets sewn into the Bimini. Never seen any pics, but I assume you just get a pocket sewn onto the top of the Bimini with enough width for the surfboard. Seems like a good idea. I'm going to look into getting it done next week. I just need to find some matching fabric

I have an old skyski rack that came on the boat from PO. I tilted it up and put some pipe insulation on it with some 200mph tape and it works great at any speed. I hold the board in with a bungee. The whole setup is a little white trash, but it works great, and I'm not gonna spend extra $$ on a rack when I need all the $$ I've got for gas.

This looks like a good product line here for someone with a water jet! Design a surf board rack that mounts to the tower like the wake board racks do, and water jet it out of aluminum! hummmmm, now where was my water jet at......

I put my red woody in the rack. I use a bungee in addition to the clamp. I also put it above the Bimini with a figure of 8 bungee (2adjustable length) when we are out all day. But then again I got my board for cheap on closeout 3 yrs ago.

Mine go in the locker on the port side under the stereo head unit.

Don't you have a 45 Scott? I figured that'll be a good spot.

Yes sir, I do. Even our 5'6" board fits nicely in that locker.

Hey Demo, how much weight does it take for that wave. I'd love to have an X7 but was afraid it would be a lot harder to set up for surf than my X1.

If we have the smaller boards, they go in the rack. If we have the bus (12'6''), it goes in the boat.

It has 500lbs in it. It is a lot harder than a X1.

Nice work on that custom rack! Did you fabricate that yourself? You ought to market them if you did.

Mine go in my basic racks when on the water. On the road to the lake they go in the boat along with wakeboards and skis. I'm always worried about stuff flying out so I'm going to make a rack for the bed of the truck that holds all the boards and skis without scratching them up.....

One day I looked into the rear view mirror and my friends hi dollar wakeboard (which was in a carry bag) was magically hooked to the ski pylon. We lucked out big time!

I've got that same tower and just realized that my surf board would not fit. Today it road under the back seat bench before and after the ballast was filled. Need a good option like this.
