Hi all,

Just spoke with Ryan from Slideanchor and thought I would throw out some additional information.

1) This is a group buy, so he needs 20 orders to have this qualify. Currently Mcraft Team Talk has about 8 orders in already. So, if anyone else wants to order, the sooner the better so we can secure the deal.

2) After Ryan gets 20+ orders (or at the end of the timeframe), he will then call people for credit cards for payment and send everything out.

This deal finally motivated me to upgrade since my current anchor is only "ok". After a nervous night of camping with howling winds, and wondering if my boat was going to blow on shore, I am glad to see this discount!

Thanks to Slideanchor for giving us this opportunity.

Were almost at the 20 orders mark with only a few more days left. This deal is the lowest price you will see until next year. I have had few people order through me, and that is fine. I end up just forwarding it to Ryan @ slide anchor.

I'm in need of an anchor for my xstar... but i have a little compartment for it in the pickle fork that i think is only meant to house a fluke style anchor. from what i've read here box anchors are the way to go... Any way to make this work? from a convenience standpoint I'm going to have to put the anchor in the anchor locker

I am going to buy one today. What size should I get? It says the small is good for 18' -30' sport boats. With that I should need anything larger than the small. What do you guys use the small or large?

I just sent an order in for the small box and shore spike. The spike looks handy, but the box anchor if it works like it shows should be great. The small box should hold a X-35 according to the description.

I did not notice the different sizes on the shore spike the first time. I ordered the large stainless spike.

Jmann, I use the small box for my X2 and it seems to hold great even with river currents on the Mississippi.

I put my box anchor and shore spike under the front bow cushion on the 08 X2. Not sure of how much room you have in the pickle fork. The box achor does fold up pretty much flat.

Will they ship to Canada?

What about international to Finland? USPS should be cost efficient and you simply cannot find box anchors here anywhere.

Only 1 day left ! So if you are on the fence its time to make a decision. Ryan was out on the lake all day so he does not have the total number of orders. Im sure from the responses Ive seen we should be good for at least 20. If it comes down to it I may make up the difference.

I anchor in a deep lake, coves can easily be 70+ feet deep. Even with the deal, $120 is a lot to spend on an anchor for a ski boat (IMO). But if it works better then my WalMart $29 job I will be very happy. Plus, I can get rid of the annoying chain rode - always worried about the chain chipping the gelcoat when dropping or removing the anchor.

Mine showed up too. I went with the galvanized. I have to say, I am thankful for the discount, but I was a bit surpised at the quality. I knew it would not look like the SS one on the web site, but it looks a bit rough. The welds do not look too good. I hope that it works so well that all of its uglyness can be forgiven. For that matter, it better work darn good.

Wow, this worked great. Very windy, would have been a pain with my old anchor trying to keep from dragging it along the sand at our tie-up. My friend ended up just tying to my boat since he had to keep resetting his anchor.

I got the big spike with the double clete attachment, so both boats were anchored with the stake and the box anchor up front.

Small pointer, hook up a float if you are using the stake in 3' deep water. Makes it easier to find.... Just saying.

We were about 75' off the shore in 3' of water were I set the stake. My buddy was pulling the rope attached to the boat in about a 20 mph wind. I walked forward about 10' to help him get the boat swung around. When I turned to the stake, the look on my face was priceless. Using the leg sweep method I found the stake then hooked a float up to it.

So I used my new anchor for the first time the other day. I was a little concerned because we have a fairly rocky bottom. Threw it in and it set right off the bat. We were in a cove with maybe 10 other boats and we were watching at least 3 others fighting to get thier anchors to set. Thanks again for getting the discount.
