I don't understand the hype when the lotto jackpots get so huge. If anything wouldn't you have less of a chance of winning it all since more people are playing? Greater chance of more than one winning #?
Why not play when the lotto is $20M or $50M or $100M?
One would be just as set for life with $10M after taxes wouldn't they?

Bought mine.

I usually buy when the number gets up there, for me the buck or two is well worth the fantasy.

Would you rather win $650 million and split it 3-4 ways or $10 million and not split it???

I'd could live with either actually............

If I were to win that my lifestyle wouldn't change much....other than to have a new 197 in the garage.

According to the people that run the Lottery, your odds are 1 in 176 million to win. It does do not matter if you buy one dollars worth or a million dollars worth and the amount of millions of people that play also does not matter / change your odds.

I am in with my wife at her work and also three dollars worth with her.

Like they say," there is going to be at least one LUCKY dog".:)

I just stood in line for almost 10 minutes just to get my $1.09 Kit Kat bar due to people dropping $15 and $20 on lottery tickets. Most of those people looked like they should have been spending the $20 on soap and toothpaste.

Like you said, why wait until the jackpot is over $100M?

I'm with you on that. I hit every liquor store through Anaheim and Santa Ana this morning, $1 at each store since it's always a person that "just bought 1 ticket" in the barrio, ghetto, chinatown, etc.. We also have a pool going at work, $5 a person that has been going since it got up around 100 million. I'm about to go broke by just keep playing that one, i sure hope someone wins soon!! What do they call it again, the poor tax??

If the odds are one in 176M, couldn't you buy every number, guarantee a win, and be left with $464M at this point?

If I assume your odds are correct, then you are right, except if 10 other people win you didn't play the hand well

Heck yea, if you are super rich.....say like mitt romney....you could buy all 175,711,536 combinations and win $464,288,464!

I'm in for $5, it's cheap entertainment.

After my numbers are drawn tonight, I'll be on here asking which metal flake looks the best for the new boat :D

I just like the classic look of white and black for my winning ticket purchase.

I am going to see if I can buy into MC and Hyperlite. I am also going to look for a 40th Ann X-Star, black and red.

Yup, and at least 3 winning tickets were purchased and the estimated amount for each person is around $213M BEFORE taxes. Definitely a good return for a $1 ticket.
