Does anyone know if the power tower option can be retro-fit on older models, specifically a 2005 X-10? We love our boat and are having a tough time spending an additional $90K for the X-25 with power tower...

you will have to talk with your local MC service rep. What I do know is the ZFT-5P uses large backing plates to support and re-inforce the mounting point. Your X10 will not have this. Second, the big question is WILL the mounting backplate fit on an X10?? who knows. One thing for sure is the power tower will not fit onto the existing ZFT-4 mounts. Another factor is the width of your boat. There are many factors to consider. Becasue the tower is powered, there may be a considerable amount of labour in retrofitting a $8000 tower to an existing boat. Assuming it could be doen, it could cost you over $10K to do this. Is it worth it?

I know you love your boat, but if you traded (or sold) your X10, the price difference may only be in the order of $60K difference for a well loaded X25.

We had a customer with a 06 X-2 wanting to do this and the tower alone is almost $15k along with having to split the deck and reinforce the entire side of the deck for the added stress. It COULD be done, but it is going to be $20k or so. Take that money along with your X-10 and buy a new one. If you really like your X-10, then the X-25 is not the boat for you. Completely different personality.

WOW $15K for the tower package? I guess you pay more when you order it as a accessory or part.

That is with the $2500 increase for the hydraulic actuators.

Thanks for all the info... at $15k, the decision becomes pretty easy to make in regards to reloading on a newer model. Damn, looks like I have to start boat shopping!!!
