Ok... so how much should something like this cost me? I was out on Lake Travis today and all of a sudden we got a horrible vibration. Took her back to the lift and this is what I found. Doesn't look all that bad, so I'm sure it can be repaired. There is only one of the three blades dinged. My question is how much "should" I be out?

I was told by a local shop somewhere around $300.... I thought that was way over priced

You can get a nice used prop for $300. That ding is $100-120 to get fixed around here. Try a different shop...

If you have any ability to work with your hands take a hammer and body dolly and reshape that one blade using the others as a guide. You can use 2 hammers if you don't have a dolly to use. You can reshape it well enough to take the vibration out of it. To be original have it fixed by a prop shop--there are options. Just a suggestion- :)

We have a guy in Cincinnati that charges $25/blade. You have to be careful though, even if it only looks like one blade is bent, most likely all 4 are off a little. Pitts Propeller, old guy does it out of a shack, cash only but his work is outstanding.

If you send it to OJ, you will have it back in a week and it will be better than new. Don't pay $300.

what dinged the prop also took a chunk out under the boat. Found this little gem while I was inspecting the boat this AM and taking off the prop.

Bummer about the gel. Been there, done that. Did the prop do that or was it the same thing that messed up the hull that messed up the prop. If the former, you might need a new shaft.

Good point, but potentially worse news.
