Good evening all,

I'm looking for a replacement gas lift strut for the seat back on my observer's seat. Went by the auto parts store and they had ones that extended the right length but some were for hatches others for hoods. Seems like they woul be too stiff for the seat back. Anyone know the best place and a model number for this?

Thanks,

Mike

Take the old one to a camping world they have a big assortment. They will have what you need.

The weight in pounds is usually printed on the cylinder. Take it to Napa and get one that is the right length and weight.

Forgot to mention mine was missing when I bought the boat. I imagine it would be the same one they used in the 83-86 S&S.

There was not a controller on the 83 - 86 models.

I'll get you the model number and brack configuration from my 93. Very similar.

I'll post a picture of the setup for reference. Shouldn't be hard to get you in business. Finding a straight bracket can be a challange but they are around. I ran across a site a few weeks ago (and I think I bookmarked it). I'll post it up when I find it.

Napa had the best selection.
