Just out of curiosity how much fuel will a typical 23 foot boat with 330 hp burn on a day on the lake? I'm talking typical usage pulling skiers and tubers around for about 4 hours. I'm just trying to determine a budget for fuel. Thanks again guys.

my 20 footer 275 hp burns 5-6 gph at wake and ski speeds - so probably a bit more for a 23 footer.

With my 230 Maristar with the LTR we will spend 8 to 10 ours a day on the lake traveling 30 minutes each way on the water to get to the better parts of our lake. It holds 65 gals and we probably burn 40 gals each day. Never really looked at the GALS PER HOUR rate. I just fill it up each time 100-150 bucks each time last year. We ski, wakeboard and surf and I let them ride the tube on the 30 minute ride back.

My MariStar 230 w/ 330 HP LTR used to get a pretty impressive 4.5-5 GPH while wake boarding with a light ballast load (600-1,000 lbs). I haven't actually calculated it since I started running a more consistent 2,500-2,700 lbs last season. It feels a lot worse at the pump though.

5 gallons per hour will get you in the ballpark, depending on how much weight you run.

Our 55 with the LSA supercharged engine will burn an entire tank half way through a set. So we carry an extra 400 gallons of fuel in 5 gallon tanks. We have gotten pretty good at refueling the boat under tow. Many hours of watching the military videos of airplanes being refueled while under way helped a lot. We enjoy the extra gas on board as ballast, and the fumes help with a nice buzz but making the cigar a little tricky at times. We are experimenting with the Lake Powell gas barge to help refueling while under way, more to come there.

We burn a tank of gas in one day, pretty much running the boat none stop between surf and boarding, but we hold 90 gallons of fuel. Usually ending up around $375 to $400 bucks a day at Powell prices. I would rather dump money into fuel than into drugs, and I would have a huge drug problem if I did not have my boat. :D
