I am looking to replace 2 molded hoses on my LT-1 (1993)

#4 and #5 hoses in picture (this pic is an engine belonging to another member on here)

This might be #5 http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=1341

From what I understand, #4 is supposed to be impossible to find. If you find one, let me know and I will buy a spare.

I can't help you with finding the molded hoses, but I was hoping you could answer a question for me. I have an LT1 as well, currently working on swapping my broken one with a new one. My risers had different diameter hoses connected to them (right side was larger than the left). I ordered new brass fittings from my local mastercraft rep, and was assured by him that they were supposed to be the same diameter on both sides, which makes sense...equal flow on both sides. Are your riser coolant hoses the same dimensions? I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, hose replacements are probably in the close future for me.

The hose from the bubble catcher on the engine thermostat housing is 1/4" and goes to the port side riser. The hose from the head steam tube is 3/8" and goes to the starboard riser.

The larger hoses (#3 in the pic above) supplying cool water to the risers should be the same size.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't mean to threadjack. I guess I will just have to reuse the 3/8" one unless I can find it somewhere, and let my guy know that they're supposed to be different.

He sold me a pair of the 90 degree bend 1/4", I switched the ones that came with the boat from the old risers to the new ones as a temporary solution while waiting on the new ones.

Damn! I had all of those sitting in a box in the garage at our lake house from my old LT-1. When I had the closed cooling system installed, they removed all those hoses and installed the hoses that came with the kit. You are about 1 year too late... they are probably now rotting at the dump.

Thanks for the tip. My 2 molded hoses are still ok, but I think after 19 years it's time to start looking for new ones.

Can anyone confirm that the "J" hose above fits the LT-1?

That hose looks like it has too much hook on bottom.

Hose #4 is the real problem.

Look into hose candy to make your own.

The only formed hose that is still available for the LT1 is the J hose. The others not available any longer. I stock the J hose and its $35.99

Bruce...I assume that the J hose that you have is #5. Also you say the others are not available. What other formed hose is on an LT1 other than #4?

Check out these guys... looks like they have solutions that would work.....also they will custom make custom hoses...I'm sure that is very expensive, but their video is very interesting.

Yes the J hose is #5 which is available. #2 and 4 are also preformed and not available. If you look at his picture its pieced together. waterskis.com has #2 but indmar does not anymore. They must have had some left over.

time to go in the back of a parts store and start looking around. My buddies and I have to do this all the time with our old 4x4's and engine swaps. Almost always find something that works!

Mike do you know the elusive pictured #5 & #4 hose part numbers? Has anyone bought and or confirmed that this company has or can make the two hard to find hoses?
Thanks,
Patrick

Bruce how do I order one of these #5 J hoses from your Company? Do you have a online Parts store to order from? Or do I have to call you to make the order?
Thanks,
Patrick

No.. I don't have the part numbers... I was hoping to get those.. I don't have an LT-1 motor to measure the hoses.

Depending on the size a wire reinforced gates hose can be shaped as well without out kinking.

I know they have it - someone posted it here - that's how I found it.

If you use a caliper to measure i.d. and o.d. I am sure they can confirm the part.

inside diameter of the "U" hose and it's height when it stands.

If the "U" hose is #2, it is 1-1/4" hose. I don't know the diameter of the circle.

#4 is the holy grail hose. It is 3/4" on the mixer end and (I think) 1-1/4 on the water pump end. Being a reducer and sharply bent is a combination that is going to be hard to find.

Have any LT1 owners had the pictured #5 & #4 (the two impossible to find) hoses custom made? If so, by what Company and how much were the Hose cost?
Thanks,
Patrick

Thanks for the info guys. I know these posts are over a year old, but waterskis.com still has this " #2 hose" which is the link in bold above. I just ordered one.

You can put me down for one of the hoses as long as it doesn't cost me my 1st born. I still kind of like him.
