Being about 80 plus degrees figured I needed to go ahead with intake swap.

Got the intake off--getting ready to go back.

Ran out of day light but got the intake on and carb back on and shut the cover and with the flame arrestor on it hits--need about 2 inches from somewhere???

Anyone have any ideas???? It's an edlebrock performer 2181 not the RPM one.
Fuel line is about 2 inches short and I will have to add to the throtle cable bracket--other than these few things it looks good to go. :)

Remove the factory spacer and find another spot for the pcv hose.

Be sure to apply some clear coat or paint it so that bare manifold doesn't start to corrode.

Yep I coated it with clear engine paint before I put it on. What do ya' think about putting a small insulator on between carb and intake?

I don't deem it necessary as that manifold is taller than stock.

Well, Dino Don, how did it work out for you?

Had to get a few things to finish--waiting on the little brown truck. I'm going to put 1/2 inch composite insulator under the carb. Should clear the cover--can't wait to try it out. :D

My daughter is a occup.therapist for them and we always go and help out when they put one of their events on. It is one of the most rewarding things my wife and I have done. My son also helps so it really becomes a family affair. We also help with the wounded warriors event they help sponsor each year and that is VERY specail. I'm a veteran and so is my son and we really get something special from that event. Last year they had a motorcycle escort of about 300 to bring them in. It's coming up in June at Seneca, SC. on Lake Keowee. I have a conference commitment and can't be there and I'm disappointed for sure about that. Anyone in the area might call the hospital and see if they need any boats.

No, too many distractions to deal with. But it won't be as long as it has been that's for sure.
Might have to take a day during the week and dust it out! :D

Dino...I myself am looking forward to the intake swap. In looking at your photos it looks as though you can actually install it without having to remove the distributor. Can you tell me if this is possible or did you just lift it up some and had it still sitting in place when the photo was taken? Thanks in advance.

No problem to slide it under the dist. If you use the cork style end gaskets glue them down and then the intake won't move them. If you use sealer then you have to be extra careful that you don't disturb it as you move the intake in and over the frt end. I was as careful as I could be so as not to mess it up and have a leak. I have run it on the "fake a lake" and it was sealed fine. Still haven't put it on the lake yet but going to as soon as I can.

Putting my Corvette on a dyno this weekend so I have to wait a few more days.

Well, it was worth the effort--it runs like you would think it should. Tried to run a video but somehow I messed up and it didn't take. The think comes on strong--from dead still and then full acceleration it starts very smooth and then you can definitely feel the surge of torque. Can't wait to put some pull weight behind it and get some impressions as to the pull power. Speedometer bumps 45 at full go and engine sounds great. Very satisfied with the effort put in it. :D

Really pleased I don't have any oil leaks on the intake frt or rear!! Now I guess we're ready to just burn gas-- :D
