Indeed. They are more then worth the extra cash.

Looks great. Did you install it yourself?

I did install it myself. it took a little over an hour. the the instruction booklet was really clear and it had an extra sheet that had pictures and exact measurements for hole placement. it came with he fiberglass filler and aluminum backing plates. only 4 bolt holes to drill and one mre for wiring.

Very nice!

Looks very good. And best of all it's a DIY!! Did the filler plate cover the OEM tower holes ok? I have the exact same boat and wouldn't mind upgrading to this type. I have the original Zero Flex Flyer.

The tower looks great, ND is worth the extra money.

Mine didnt have a tower from the factory so all mounting holes are new. I know the rears would be way off of the 99' model tower. Not sureabout the fronts. I was gonna go for the black powder coat but im glad i didn't. i do wish i had gotten the light pre-mounted on top of the tower. I had them etch in mastercraft instead of Prostar on the side plate and if I had it to do over I'd probably go with the Prostar graphic instead. Racks are gonna cover that area eventually.

How are those new dimensions towers for side to side movement? I recently looked a a boat with a friend that had a skylon tower that moved alot. My neighbor's sampson tower is very solid. Mine is somewhere in the middle. I really love the lines of that ND tower and have been chewing on upgrading for the last year.

Awesome looking tower , I think u made a great choice !!

ND tower is pretty solid. I can't seem to get much movement out of it by trying to man handle it. We'll see when it's on the water. From what I've read they don't move much.

With new cover on.

Fits that boat beautifully. Congrats.

So you went with the MasterCraft on the sides but would prefer the Prostar? Why? Do you have any pics of the Mastercraft detail?

03-05-2012, 10:26 PM
The prostar graphic had prostar with a star logo surrounding it. At the time I was thinking about maybe adding an xstar decal instead of the factory mastercraft side decal. The mastercraft etching in the tower is kind of plain. Just 3/4" tall and not really the same exact font used by mastercraft. Looks ok. Just would do it different after looking at it.

looks great! Just need the board racks, and some speakers.

03-09-2012, 03:13 PM
mini or full tower?

03-09-2012, 03:15 PM
ND does make a very nice looking tower. Your boat looks great with it.

03-09-2012, 05:28 PM
Full tower. I had heard that they would make it 8" shorter if I wanted it that way. I figured that they made it that height in the first place for a reason so I went with standard. More height is probably better for function. I'm 6' and I think I'll be able to walk under the speakers without ducking my head.

03-10-2012, 10:21 AM
Do you have any idea how tall off the floor it would have been if you made it shorter by 8"? Just wondering if you could walk under it 8" shorter with out speakers. It sounds like the 8" shorter is between a mini and a full tower?

I have the full size NDT on 2000 Maristar and it is 80.5" of head clearance. I also had thought about a tower height btw full and mini but glad I went with full.

03-10-2012, 01:19 PM
Why are you glad you went with the full? What were your concerns with in between?

03-10-2012, 04:09 PM
I'm 6'3" and with tower mounted Bimini I am going to b happier with full height. I don't plan on adding speakers but if or when i sell, anyone wanting to consider tower speakers would want full tower IMO. In the long run, full just made more sense

I have a 95 ps 205 with the same tower. I love it but I still have a standard MC cover without cutouts for the tower. Needless to say it is less than idea. Where did you get the cover and how much was it? I'm trying to figure out if want to buy new or retrofit the old one.

Im glad I went with the full tower because of the clearance. If it were lower it might also make the boat have a smaller feel inside. I think that the extra height will add air at the end of the rope as well.

I paid around 305.00 for my cover from marine max. I have one of their memberships that has a 5% discount. My 205v hull was marketed under several different names and was available wit with three different tower configurations over the years as well as with no tower at all. Since my 205v isnt listed as actually having a tower from yhe factory, i had to cross reference and find a similar hull with the 02-05 zeroflex flyer tower. I found that the cover had different pricing according to which name was on the hull even though it was the same actual hull and tower layout. I found the cheapest one was for an 02 xstar with zeroflex flyer and it fit perfect. I did get one that covers the swim platform. If I had it to do over I'd probably just get it to cover the boat and not swim deck. My cover is black sharkskin and is made by Westland. I like the sharkskin, but next time I might try the sunbrella. I was trying to shave some cost because of the recent tower purchase plus impending ballast and stereo upgrades.
