Pretty excited for these lakes to thaw out! 2007 X1 with 245 hours. Liked that it was bigger than my older boats, but still pretty manageable for the garage and towing. Its amazing how big the new boats are! Happy to get back into a Mastercraft!

Welcome to the club. I have an 06 X1. Your comments are right on about the space you get compared to how they fit and tow. If I could get the bump down a little on the slalom wake it would be the perfect boat for me. Still considering a wakeplate but I'm a free skier so it isn't bothering me enough to pull the trigger. Great boat.

mccobmd,

Have you tried filling up the KGB ballast and emptying everything else or throwing a couple hundred pounds in the bow?

Great looking boat. With time to burn before you get on the water, pull the platform off, let it sit inside and warm up. Get some teak oil on it, and be enjoy the new look. I wish I would have done it right away last year, huge difference in what it will do for the appearance.

mccobmd,

Yes and it does make a difference. I have a 400lb sac I put in the middle up on the seat and in the bow. We move it to the Port side when we surf. It does help a lot but it would be a lot simpler just to hit the button and put the plate down. I haven't pulled the trigger just because what you mentioned works well.

What is your first upgrade????

Trying to get the tower supports, but dealer wants around $600 installed...

Next, will probably go with the removable pylon from Mastercraft Designs, since really wont be using the current pylon, and would rather just get it out of the way.

Next, need front ballast! No KGB- Not sure if I should go with a locker sac or better to go with the bow sac.

Just the 310hp. Has heater (two outlets), Mastercraft Cruise, rear ballast, no KGB, basic board racks, bimini, think thats about it! So not completely stripped down, but not rolling in the options either.

Check Great Lakes Skipper. They have a ton of new but mostly older MC parts. These guys buy all of the non-current and scratch and dent parts from all the major boat builders. They have a sizable amount of tower parts. Also, they sell on ebay so you can grab a deal from time to time. Aslo, they take offers so you can bargain.

Yeah, they are actually fairly local to me. But their prices don't seem to be very discounted. They have similar items going for dealership prices. http://greatlakesskipper.com/product/31_820_840-oem-parts-and-accessories-wakeboard-tower-accessories/13706-mastercraft-boat-company-mastercraft-552927s-boat-tower-brace-kit.html But thanks for the tip. I am watching them on ebay, to see if anything else comes up!

You should be able to get the tower supports free. I think jim at bay area watersports can get them for you if your dealer won't.

The ski locker sac will help, but you really need more weight join the front. There isn't a lot of room under the seats in the bow, so the integrated bow sac doesn't fill all the way. How much weight are you running in the back?

The bow seat problem is why I got a 400lb locker sac and put it up on the seat in the point of the bow and in the floor of the bow. Still 2 seats up there and gets 400lbs. I got an aftermarket locker sac and added a third pump. If if had to do it again I would probably get the locker sac and fill it with the Tsunami pump. That thing is really fast.

Not mine, that's from the private party I purchased from. I'm not sure on the details, but property seemed to be a combination of the owners private residence, and a diesel repair shop, and boat was stored in an extra bay.

Again, dealer was $600, and Jim would not help, because I'm not the original owner, and not in FL....

When I contacted Mastercraft directly, they just pawned me off to Great Lakes....

It actually took me a couple of minutes to figure out! I emailed MC with the Hull info and two days later I got a response from Great Lakes, answering my question....

So you're saying do the bow sack AND the ski locker?

How much do you think is in the bow?

I Don't fill the ski locker to ski. I have an X2 sac that holds 400lbs that I put in the front bow seat and walkway. I will fill the KGB for wakeboarding and surfing, it holds 350lbs. I put 400 in both sides to wakeboard, starboard 750 +150lb fatbrick in ski locker to surf. Have standard prop and RTP and it still does great.

Nice rig. Any info on where it came from? Guy on our lake had the exact same boat which was then sold by Coulters after a trade in.

Nice boat. Congratulations, you'll love it. I also have a 07 X1 that I bought last year in January. BAWS was able to help me get my tower braces free, my local dealer was going to charge me. I just had to pay shipping.

Funny that you mentioned all the room in the boat. I fell like it has plenty of room and storage also. Most people on this forum talk about how small the X1 is.

The ballast set-up I've recently gone to is:
750's in the rear lockers (removed hard tanks) (Had 400's last season)
370 in the ski locker
260's side sacs under the front seats. (Decided to go with the 2 side sacs under the front seats so I can fill up individually for surfing.)
Currently I only have the 750's plumbed in. I have a 3rd pump to install for the 370 and 2--260's.

Finally brought her home! The Ridgeline did just fine towing the 60 miles home, really wasn't much different from the older Prostar that I had, that trailer did not have brakes. I will say, going forward, my drive to the lake is only 10mins, otherwise maybe looking at a truck upgrade too. Plenty of room in the garage, although, I'm about 1" away from being able to put the tower up, otherwise it hits the ceiling.

Thanks

i have pro tour red its more of a blood look and yours dont look like that so I'd say Viper if that is the only other red one they sold.

Nice fit but I'd find a way to raise the tower and get it off your sun deck.
Someone here opened the engine cover and then lowered the tower keeping it off the upholstery

I just put a throwable floatation cushion under each speaker when I put the down. Works great.

My garage has 10' ceilings so during the winter I raised the tower back up so I could do work on things in the boat.

I'm at 9'10"!! So close-

I just used a 2x6 board, cut 2 2" holes on each each, and then capped the holes. Sits on the trailer guides, and tower rests on the board. Hopefully that works. For permenant winter storage, will probably do bungees or tied up from the ceiling
