Nice Looking Boat!

What brand trailer is that?

Great choice. Some say best all-around MC out there.

It's a Boatmate. They are made in Maryville, TN and it's the trailer that Cleveland Boat Center sales with their MC's.

So we buy the boat on a Sunday, the last day of the Chattanooga Boat Show, and then 5 days later on Saturday, my wife tells me that we are pregnant!

We have decided that it will never be "the perfect time" to either buy a boat or have another child so why not do both at the same time, right?

So don't expect many additions to the swimsuit thread from me this summer, ok guys?

We are having forward facing tower lights, underwater LED lights, 2 wetsounds HLCD tower speakers Rev 8s, and afew other minor add- ons completed before pickup, but she should be ready by Saturday.

The underwater lights look really cool to me (from what I've seen on this forum) so in fact, all of you guys helped with that up-sell as well as the Wetsounds speakers.

I've been lurking for about a month on here now and I have
learned a lot just from reading your posts.

congratulations for both a new boat & a new family addition!!! both my kids (now 27 & 25) grew up on a boat (even prior to being born). one of the best rockers in the world is slap a life jacket on the baby and put in the boat ... the motion of the water works wonders!

Excellent choice in the x15 and congrats on the additional tax deduction for 2012. What lake is your favorite in your area, we are just south of you at Wedowee.

2 wetsounds HLCD tower speakers Rev 8s

Were you keeping the two factory cans and adding the Rev8s? My guess is that you won't be hearing much out of the JLs once you put a pair of HLCDs up there. Congratulations on the new boat!

Nice boat. Are you going to keep it on chickamauga?

Yep, we're gonna dry store it at Erwin Marine at the dam. It's kinda pricey but it really puts a lot more joy in our boating experience.

And, being a 1st timer and all, I don't want to load or unload incorrectly and mess up such a nice boat. Plus, if it took me more than 1 or 2 tries backing it down the ramp, there would probably be some mouthy Bassmasters, or something.

Dry storage is awesome. It makes it so much more convenient, especially with young kids. Sometimes the hours suck if you want to get an early morning set and they arent open yet. You also get stuck having to pay a dollar more a gallon for boat dock gas.

I grew up in chattanooga, and we usually bring the boat up to chickamauga from huntsville once or twice over the summer.

Practice unloading and loading late at night or whenever your ramps aren't busy. Everyone has to learn sometime and eventually you'll have to trailer it

Got a pic today of some upgrades being put on our boat including one of the new tower speakers. Does anyone know how these new Wetsounds speakers will sound next to the stock JL Audio tower speakers? Not sure of the model of the WS Speakers, either. Maybe a little help with that as well.

If both are powered properly, I would be shocked if the wet sounds didnt "beat the brakes" off the jls(which are not wimpy sounding)...

Dave from Earmark can give you the best answer to your question about mixing the JLs with the Wetsounds, but I've never read him recommending this type of hybrid setup. I just don't think the JLs will be audible sitting next to the Wetsounds. Pretty sure those are Wetsound Rev 8s on your tower.

Looks like there's a spot for Perfect Pass. If you don't have one I'd put it in before anything else that you have upgraded. Its not called the Marriage Saver for noth'n

How much for a Perfect Pass w/install?

03-01-2012, 09:14 PM
yea... you might as well pull those JL tower speakers off with the cans. the wetsounds will totally drown them out. i think deejay (one of the guys here) was looking for cans for the power tower

sell the JL tower speakers, have your dealer plug in the PP and you'll come out ahead

It might have MC cruise. I've heard the new MC cruise is much better than the early versions, but have no direct experience.

Good job getting the dash with analog gauges instead of the LCD screens.

First, congrats on the boat. Very nice.

+1 for Perfect Pass (or MC cruise).

You might want to have a cleat added mid-ship. I have a four legged tower so the front legs are good for attaching the fenders at mid-ship. Some time you will want to tie up along a dock or something so you want to be able to put a fender around mid-ship. The front cleats are fine for ropes but about 100% useless for fenders.

Congrats on both new additions to the family. My son grew up hanging from the tower in his baby carriage, still thinks it is a swing.

Enjoy the the new ride.

Hey, congrats on the new family addition and the boat. I am hoping to get a boat soon so my 3 month old can grow up on one. I will not be able to get one anywhere near as nice as yours though. My brother's soon to be in laws live on Chickamauga so maybe I will catch a glimpse of your new eye candy as you slide by.
