My brother-in-law just picked up (this afternoon) 1990 PS 190 with the following:

454 engine, tandem trailer, bimini top, new cover, barefoot boom, skylon, fat sack, new Alpine and speakers...excellent condition with maintenance records and 596 hrs, $10,250. Seems like a good enough deal with all the extras...and the boat has been serviced by the local dealer through the two owners that she has had. He just called from the test drive, 5500 rpm - speed 53 mph! Ran it through and timed it in the slalom course, then it was 5500 @ 54mph!

Would those 190's with the 454 option do that speed on that hull, as he said he had a bit of throttle left.

From owning a an 86' that did mid fifties I am curious how this one handles at those speeds. Mine made you a little white knuckled

Well, sorry, I just got the pics and it IS NOT a Pro Star but a Tri Star. It's very nice but he told me Pro Star on the phone - I think he and his GF had been consuming a beverage that alters your thought process. But I'll get them loaded anyway later.

Nice looking boat. Looks like someone may have changed/removed the decals but looks to be in great shape.

That is a TRISTAR SPORT in other words a CLOSED BOW TRISTAR
Normally that configuration was considered a barefoor verison
with the 454 plant. Change that stock prop. 4 blades have come along way sonce then. The transmission is probably a 1:1 not a slot.
I remember a 1990 that was used at the Gardens that had a 454 w/ a powerslot talk about power !!!

See yellow is still awesome. Looks like updated graphics on the back

Mine's real similar. I've had my 1990 Tri-Star for 8 years now. When I was looking for a boat I wanted HP for footing and an open bow for the family. Back in 97 is was tough to find a used open bow w/ high horsepower at a good price. There was still a premium for fuel injected boats. I stumbled across it and have been happy ever since. I put an OJ Force 4 13x14 on it and it made a HUGE difference. No vibration, great hole shot, improved handling, softer wake, and only lost 1 mph on top end.

The prop gets dinged up every year and repaired. I'm about to break down and buy a new prop. I'm thinking about the ACME 431 three blade.

If you have any questions about the boat, feel free to ask. I just repowered it after having a cracked block from a winterization brain fart. Those 454HO motors aren't cheap to buy or fix. In the process I put in new carpet and carpet.
