I wanted to add side curtains to my existing 197 factory cover to protect it from sun fade. The local fabric guy said he could do it for $250 if I could live with 30" below the rub rail. Problem is my boat is in storage and can't tell if this will be enough. I think it is but I'm not sure, what do you guys think?

I would think 30" is plenty. I think my 205 cover has like 18" or so I had added, and that gets the end where the side turns in under to the bottom. Unfortunately, my boat is hibernating too.

I have a cover with sides that are maybe 20" - 24" (cover came with the boat, I have never had it on, bought a mooring cover).

Yeah the cover will only be used while on a lift. The lift is currently under water

Looks like 25" will get you below the edge

Hey, is that an overhead cable lift? If so, do you lift your whole boat on 6 4x4 posts???

Thanks agua4fun, looks like 30 " will be perfect.

rhsprostar, it's a hydraulic lift that sits on the bottom of the lake. The 4x4 are just to hold up the cheesy roof, although its a good spot to stand and watch people ski, plus the kids love jumping off of it. Lifting a boat on 4x4 posts would be insane!

Ya that's what I was thinking .....BUT I have seen worse!....just looked like a cable at lakeside that looked like it might be a lift. Also thought you may have put the mechanical in that box at the front.....

We used a piece on 36 in sunbrella and put it under the cover and made a tote loop on the bottom. This is on a 97 ps205 which might be a little taller than your 190

that cable in the rear is just a rope that centers the boat when you pull in, and that box is were I store misc equipment, old combo skies knee board extra rope etc...
