I am looking for a 1993 Prostar 190 25th Anniversary Edition Stars and Stripes (either white with blue or grey with blue)! I will pay top dollar for one in excellent condition and low hours… I have no preference on what engine the boat has. Please PM me if you have one you would consider selling or if you know someone who may consider selling theirs….

Thanks

the last of the great Master Crafts!
I bet you will not find a grey/blue S&S. They made 100 in red and white and 100 in blue and white.
Unless there was a custom "one off" in grey, they don't exist.

Good Luck!

I'm sorry, but this is not correct.

The Stars and Stripes 190 was an approximately $750 option over a regular 190. This was not a limited edition anniversary boat where, for example, 25, 50, or 100 were made. In 1993, there was a 25th anniversary boat called the 190 Limited. It was Silverflake and only 25 were produced.

I don't know how many Stars and Stripes 190s are out there, much less how many blue versus red ones were produced. But their production was not capped at a set number. Production of the Stars and Stripes 190s ended in around July 1993 IIRC. There were Stars and Stripes 190s with grey as the main color. BAWS's brother-in-law, Dean, owned a red and grey one. I seem to recall having seen a blue one, but don't remember whose it was. That doesn't mean there might not be a few out there.

They are beautiful boats to be sure. They are probably my favorite MCs next to the 190 Limited.

Me too........

I am still kicking myself in the butt for passing on a nice blue and white one 5 or 6 years ago.

YES -- MC did produce a blue on GREY Stars and Stripes Prostar 190 in 1993.... I almost purchased it and at the last minute the seller decided to keep it.... I also came close to purchasing a blue on WHITE S&S... The owner ended up selling it out from me (sold it to someone in his own state and this was an easier deal for him to facilitate)....

The search continues.....

LT-1 in that '93 S & S....pretty rare. Def worth the $$.....skip the trailer and remove the tower, fill the holes.

There was a guy on here that posted pics of his blue on grey '93 S & S, hooked up to a white truck IIRC.

Hope you find your dream '93.......I found mine! :D

My Dad was a Master Craft dealer then and he told me what I posted earlier. He has a red and white, and I have a blue and white.

I don't think there are many absolutes when it comes to these.

The only thing I would change with these would be to add a split windshield for better ventilation for the driver.

That red boat in Tx has been for sale for 2-3 years. Damn shame it has the ghetto rack on it.

My limited is a white hull.
I know the blue boat is a platinum hull...as stated by the owner. Look at the color difference between the Ford pickup and the boat.
The red boat in the 3rd pic is Jim's cousin in NY.....Jim stated it's a platinum hull, not white.
Not sure about the last pic

Colors are never that accurate on computer monitors.

So in your pic there are 2 blue ones, you own one and who owns the other?

Here's a grey one. Yes, it's grey. I know it looks white. But it's grey. This is Jim's brother in law, Dean Witmer's old boat. I can't recall if he was the original owner, but I don't think he was. If I recall correctly, he sold it a couple of years ago.

http://mastercraft.com/teamtalk/attachment.php?attachmentid=52108&stc=1&d=1253972427

The vast majority of these boats were blue or red on white like you say; however, because they were not limited edition, designed ahead of time in set number boats, but rather, 190s ordered with the optional Stars and Stripes package, they could be customized to a limited degree. I would not be a bit surprised to see a blue and grey 93 S&S 190 pop up.

Referenced in this thread (http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=15372&page=10) with the base color noted. Yes, I know it looks white. According to the thread, eddyg bought it new from the dealer in 1993. So he will know about what sorts of hoops were required for him to get the less common grey hull color.

That red 93 S & S was on Ski-it-again a over year ago, and I saw it again last fall. I talked to the listed owner in Nov-Dec 2010, and he was trying to sell it to get a true wakeboard boat. I wound up not going to see it (the LT-1 not withstanding) because of the holes through the hull for the tower. However, I saw this last fall, I tried calling him, left a msg, and got no response, so I figured this website doesn't clear off its older entries - couldn't find any dates. Anyhow, he was located around Houston.

The story about the 100 in Red/100 in Blue gets passed around like a bad penny.

Here are some pictures as promised!

I purchased the boat from a couple in California atfer a TT member on this forum notified me that the sellers had just posted an add for the boat. I contacted the sellers that night and forwarded them a deposit the next morning! I had two of these exact boats sold out from underneath me so I was determined this would not happen again...

The sellers agreed to take the boat to a local delaership and all checked out well!

My brother in law, who is also a MasterCraft owner, lived approximately 2 hours from the sellers went and inspected the boat for me.... He was making a trip to San Antonio to deliver an SUV he purchased for his son who attends college here in Texas. So we decided I would fly out to California and drive back with him boat in tow..... So I flew out there over the weekend and we drove made the 26 hour drive back to Texas....

We encountered no problems on our trip and I spent the day yesterday detailing the boat.....

I told you guys it was Blue! Congratulations Bronco on what appears to be a nice find. It looks as good or better condition than mine. Only wish it had a Mastercraft trailer to match but I have heard the DHL trailers are pretty good. Is it 240 or 285 HP, power slot or not, and how many hours.

Sounds like you got a hell-of-a deal.

Do you have any plans to "Make It Yours" or are you leaving it non-molested?

I think I am going to upgrade the stereo and add an amp and extra set of speakers and I'll be done!

Nice

I really like my JL speakers. Since I had my side rail upholstery redone I had the shop make the 7.7 fit nicely. The 6.5 cut outs that are already in your sides will sound great too. I do believe that if you reach around to the back side of the side rails that they are precut and there is a sponge pad with vinyl covering it. I do not think that you need to cut the wood pannel. If that is the case they are pre cut to the 6.5 ring. An electric staple gun with stainless staples would make the upholstery stay put around the ring and then cut out the inside vinyl with a razor knife.

Those white JL 6.5 would look very classy in that rig and an amp that would handle 100w to 150w rms would make it sound real nice.

Any Plans for a SUB?

I just put in a wetsound system for my friend on his 209. It sounds great. 4 6.5" in the boat and 4 tower speakers... no sub It sounds great would work great for someone who does not like the gangsta bass. He is not into the bass. I am trying to get him to buy a 10" JL sub that is free air instead of an enclosure. I think it needs a little BOOM BOOM POW

Congrats broncotw! And welcome to the '93 prostar 25th club! That boat looks to be in excellent shape!

I notice you have keyless ignition like mine, sweet! I wonder if that was standard on all '93 S & S prostars?

BTW, I wouldn't drive the boat on the trailer in your case with no bow stop. Just my $.02 ;)

By coincidence, I was reading the 93 Brochure this morning (as is my custom), and saw that the keyless ignition was standard on the 190 Ltds. Apparently, it was optional on the S&S 190s. I don't recall ever seeing one on a MC until Bronco's. I did not know until today that they were standard on the 190 Ltds. Wonder why MC didn't continue to offer it. I assume it is because of how reliably simple keys are. CC has offered it as an upgrade option since about 99. I have heard of some problems though.

We have some renewed interest in slalom in the crew. Even the die-hard wake shredder and sky skiers have caught the bug. This would be the ideal boat if I can find one. Any ideas please let me know.

Do what I did C_Craig! Put out a posting to the members here! It took some time but eventually a member here on this forum found the boat for me! I had several other members alert me to others that were for sale as well! The members here will go to work for you!!!

Still runs great with 750 original engine hours, but having trouble finding time to ski with a 1 year old at home!
