Actively looking for a clean Prostar 190. 1987 -1997. Ideally a 91-94, but would consider a really clean 4th gen (87-90).
Looking for 600 or less hrs, clean hull and interior. Don't care about a tower or not. And would ideally be within 500miles of Buffalo NY.
Will drive for the right boat, if you are considering selling or have any leads please PM me.

10,000$ is my max. They key is finding a clean boat. Bring options to me I'm ready to deal.

Sorry if similar to other thread but, if you don't ask you don't get.
Thank you

For sure the best bang for your buck out there......and a '92 is far better than an '87-90 IMHO.

It looks like a great boat. But its a bit too far and a bit over budget. 10 is my stretched budget. I have to draw the line there. Thanks for the help keep it coming

I spent 10K on my boat... then sales tax... registration.... so far spent an additional $1800 in trailer refit for breaks, tires, impeller, sparky plugs. Be patient, I was very fortunate.... my OCD for my MC runs deep .... I wanted to make her my own...that's why updated so much....

a little further for you...I am not big on the $9K for over 2000 engine hours and a need for new skins.

This boat has been sitting for several months now on CL and other sites (at that price).

Its up under another listing also for 7800$. And 2000hrs is way too much. For 5-6k$ it may be worth a chance. Basically insurance for repowering should it need it.

nice for an '86....

That, from the pic I saw, looks like an 87 to me. No rainbow, or at least I didn't see one.

Just wait. From what I've seen, boats right now are overpriced and are sitting. I think once spring comes, more boats will be on the market, and the ones that already are on the market will have owners motivated to sell as they realize the Spring demand with higher prices is just not there. This is my plan anyway. I saw much better prices last Spring and Summer.

I was thinking that way a couple years ago also. I found that I was WRONG!! Some of those "high priced" boats you see for over the winter are "for sale" to see "IF" it will sell. If they sell it great they have money to shop, if they dont sell, no problem they have a boat to use for the season.... I ran into a couple sellers doing this---when I tried to negotiate a price they would say I don't care if you buy or not I'm planning on using it this summer anyway. I feel that the under 25,000$ price point will stay strong as long as new one continue to climb into the 100,000$ mark!!
In my opinion a well cared for MC will hold value regardless of the time of year... (that's my 2 bits of copper)

The last 7 years that I have been paying attention has proved that prices in spring are always higher than winter.

I was one who put my boat up for sale when I didn't 'need' to sell. I had numerous offers for fair market value but if I was going to sell it was going to be for top dollar. That never materialized, but I pulled the ad before Spring

I do agree for the most part.

However, I have sold a lot of toys and have found more recently that with today's economy, there is always a deal somewhere for some reason... I got laid off in September, sold my fishing boat for $2000 less than I would have got in the spring, but I sold it in 1 week (what I needed to do). Someone got a mint 2010 for a steal...

There will be sellers in the next couple months with good deals. People will need to sell boats for one reason or another. Its a luxury to those, who can't shop for top dollar and than decide whether they are content with what they have or decide to upgrade. Not everyone is in that position, I'd say less than 1/2 who are selling.

Just need to keep the eyes peeled and the cash ready. Lots out there for $11-12,000 right now even some nice 95+ models. I'm pretty set on a 91+ Pro star 190 and feel I can have a good clean one for $8000/+- with little to no extras. I guess time will tell...

Thanks for everyones replies and keep them coming.

I would also check the "Boats for Sale" threads category posted on this site. There are several good looking boats that may fit your budget (or close to it).

You get what you pay for, SO if it looks like a great price, there is usually a reason. And if you buy before you look at it, you are taking a huge risk. FYI
